Hey babe Image Image Image !!!! I am so relieved to hear that your butty-butt is getting so much better already Image - I am sure you will be back "to almost normal" very fast and to "completely" normal very soon too !!! You just need time and patience and you are doing great over-all already , dear Juney Image Image - and you are in complete control of managing your stubborn butt and that is the MOST important step, in my opinion Image !!! All of the rest will just fall in place Image .
Your determination to stay sober from now on made me so proud of you Juney - you have no idea Image Image Image !!! You can do it- you already did it for months and months - you are much stronger than you think dear buddy!!!! Look how far you have come already Image in every aspect of your life and took control on so many levels ( you got rid of your uterine bleeding, you finished school, you stopped binging -many people can not do it without help !!!, you reduced butt pain to minimal level AND after such BIG mishap you are already not bleeding (KTW) - you mastered a "butt taming techniques" to the max !!!!).Just keep up great work girl ; ))) !!!!
Wishing you all the best ,
One very proud Fissy : )))

thanks fissy, you're so awesome and encouraging! i'm glad you've stuck around even after you finally healed :)
this morning was really difficult unfortunately. the stool was so hard i saw blood again and could barely get it out. i haven't had these hard, stuck stools in sooo long. i just don't understand, i took 1 tablespoon of benefiber and a stool softener yesterday and only ate healthy, fiber-filled food.
i know i've reopened the fissure, i have that raw itchy feeling like when you first tear it open and the blood is a bad indicator of a new fissure.
what should i do besides what i'm doing already?? i'm so scared i'm back to square one now and that after months and months of healing from fissurectomy i've ruined any progress i made. i don't know what to do. how do i heal a new fissure? Image

Maybe too much fibre? Can it be because you are anxious these days? Do you drink enough?
You are not back to square one, you are wiser and know what to do Juney...
Liquid food? Eat as little as possible?

Hey Juney babe - sorry for late reply - my computer was down whole day , actually service was off - we have some monsoon passing through LOL - just crazy. ANYWAY - do not despair under no circumstance now Image . Do not worry about things that might or might not have happened Image - maybe you did open small fissure but you are not to the square one !!! Your sphincter is nice and loose and even if the small laceration happened , you will not have debilitating spasms and blood flow is good and it will heal in 4-6 weeks MAX !!! Image BUT, I think it will happen much sooner!!! Your main concern now is to make your poop soft, dear buddy. Try to drink a ton of liquids, and use whatever softener you found so far helpful in the past !!! If it is MOM - use MOM and in full dose. Add fish oil, eat lots of oranges , oatmeal with apricots and some added coconut oil in it (make it liquidy - not as firm meal), and so forth. You will now need unfortunately to be on strict fissure diet until it goes away and don't forget nice baths. Once your GI stabilizes again after "binge" shock , all will be back to normal and all will be fine again Image I know it is boring now to go back to "blah" food , but it will be only for a while and sooner you start with it, sooner you will heal : )!
SO - first things first - poopsy must become soft and take as much softeners as you need for now !
Let us know how it goes Image

Dear Juney, sad the fissure has opened up again.we sometimes let our guard down wanting to do normal things like we used to.
i dont blame you for wanting to have some fun but you should take good care of yourself till you get better.Even i used to binge drink many years back.i couldnt stop drinking once i started.but i hardly drink nowadays and avoid it.i may drink a glass of wine or beer occasionally and make sure i have lots of water and fibre foods.
im glad youve realised how much alcohol can affect your health.
whats done is done.dont blame yourself.Take fissy's advice and keep your poops soft.it will heal.do take care Image

It will heal up again Juney, and you wont be back to square one. Mine's opened up with pain/bleeding again. It always does, for no reason, then after about 3 weeks it heals up again when I've just about lost hope that it will heal! I think that area is just gonna be like that for always!!
Have you got any cream- diltiazem, nitro? I'm back on the nitro again!
Take care and keep the faith! Image

Image you guys are so great, you give me hope when i'm so down. i'm still very scared i've ruined things, the past few days have been really bad - blood, glass-passing pain, dreading BMs. i'm doing everything i can to keep them soft (water, tea, softeners, healthy food, benefiber, lubing up w/ vaseline) but everyday they're as hard as a rock. i think i'll take a magnesium pill today. i'm also back to 2 baths a day, that's all i can fit in working fulltime now. i HATE this, just when i thought things were evening out and it was just a skin irritation/inflammation, i'm back to the basics again. i don't mind the bland diet, it's just the day to day pain that's hard to handle.
i know i need to be patient, but everyday is like torture. i hope this gets better soon. thank you for the encouragement and advice. :sprinkleheart:

i used my magnifying mirror to check things out the other night and noticed a new fissure on the opposite side! i'm trying not to freak out, hopefully i didn't reopen the old one that had healed since surgery. and hopefully this new one's shallow and i can nip it in the bud right away. i haven't noticed blood in 2 or 3 days, but still have the glass passing feeling Image
so back to the basics...hot baths, mineral oil, stool softeners, benefiber, etc. i'm doing everything i can to heal this one quick. i lubed up with vaseline before BM every morning too.
so i have a basic question...should i keep it dry or keep it moist with ointment? i've been alternating between vitamin E, A&D, and Desitin (zinc) ointment. i want this thing to heal as quick as possible so i can get back to just the inflammation problem. LOL.
