I agree with Jen Image If you want to go to see somebody than go to new CRS who might give you a better or new insight. Of course, you can visit both !!! Yes, our body is programed to heal , but sometimes it needs some help, especially if it is not healing for 4 years Image ...
Just never give up Juney and may acup. relax you today completely Image

i'm so frustrated!!!! it hurts every day. :'( trying to stay positive and calm but i feel like i'm in the same place i was before the 1st surgery 2 years ago. life sucks.
anyway, acupuncture was GREAT. i felt so relaxed for 2 or 3 days after. and last week was my period which always makes things less painful for some reason. it seems to take away all the tension i have down there and the pain is always less that week.
but this week, back to pain. ripping during BM, burning and a swollen feeling after. there was blood again on monday so i know i retore again. i'm just so discouraged. no matter what i do it's not right, or not enough, or i just don't even know.
i have another acupuncture appt on tues and also an appt with my old surgeon that day. i know he won't have anything helpful to say but i'm too scared to let someone new examine me. they'd probably just suggest another surgery b/c doctors seem to think that's the answer for everything.
i bought some calendula ointment and have been using that mixed with vitamin e externally. doesn't seem to help tho. the perineal area is swollen and tender and the inside hurts like hell. a really deep pain when i stand up but also raw and sore when i'm walking or sitting. i'm just uncomfortable and in pain for 6-8 hours after BM just like always.
butt problems are forever for some of us i'm beginning to realize. i guess some just aren't meant to heal or have had too much damage and will never be normal.
i'm just so tired of this.

So sorry Juney :( !!! It is really maddening, but you can not give up . I really do not understand why you do not go an see new CRS - I mean, if you think they all are suggesting surgeries , than it applies to your old ones too , right Image . So, I would rather you see a new one if you would see surgeon at all. Going back to someone who did not help you is just waste of time and money - trust me - I have been there !!! If you go and see 5 more CRS and all say you need another surgery, than you probably do BUT, at the same time, it is always up to you to make final decision. They can not operate if you do not want surgery, but asking for new perspective is crucial with any condition and so is with this one. I had to see 2 doctors, one general surgeon, one GI and 5 CRS until I found ONE that knew what to do and HOW to do it. So, I certainly think that you need to continue to search for help but do not go "blindly". Ask around who is the best butt doctor in your area. You can also go to the internet and find now web-pages that rate doctors too. In the mean time do alternative medicine stuff (creams and acup. and such) but do not expect fast results with any of them - they all need time , at least 4- 6 months to see real results !!! And than you have also to be vigilant and stay on track dear Juney - you were so much better before you had that LV mishap happening :( . Also - do not let anybody do to your butt anything before you really think it over - like that silver nitrate thing Image - listen to suggestion than say thank you - I will think about it and than come here to discuss it and do internet research and than decide what you want or do not want to do .
I wish you luck with your exam, and let us know how it went !!!!

I am sorry you still have problems Juney, this has been going on for too long!
Would you consider colostomy? People are different, but for me that seems to be an option. I think these horrible buttproblems are so life wrecking...
I have actually wished I have had colostomy several times, but I have a long history of digestion/colon disease.
Image and don't give up sweetie!

snap i understand your feelings and pain. i went through everything you have said. the pain, the bleeding, the golf ball full feeling.
it turns out mines was a fistula with an abcess, and since you had a mini fistula it might be the fistula coming back. dont leave it to long, the thought of surgery scared me to. but after surgery the pain i felt was a very diff pain, not so intense, not so full , not so tight etc, i am still in recovery and might yet need more surgery for the fistula, but the pain i feel now is nothing to wot i felt before surgery, see a crs, no1 in this day an age shoud go on feeling constant pain hun. gd luck hun xx

Dear Juney,im very sad to read you are in so much pain. Image I agree with fissy that you need to see a new crs and a good one too.there is no harm in seeing a good crs.you can decide what you want to do later but please try to know what can be done to relieve your pain.youve been in pain for months and noone deserves this.it is very depressing and i dont expect you to be calm but you shouldnt give up now.there must be something to help you to reduce this pain.
i feel for you juney.please be positive and there will be a way out of all this. Image

today surgeon confirmed that i retore the original fissure site. it's deep and bloody again. &*@$%&(*@%&@*% that's all i can say now. unfortunately i have to spend the rest of the day at work, pretending everything's fine when all i want to do is curl in a ball and cry.
dr said to use an enema to flush/clean out the anal canal after BM and apply recta-gel + neosporin to try and heal it. the gel is a hydrocortisone/lidocaine/aloe healing gel. i've used it a lot w/ no success. back to where i was when i saw him last july. @(@$@#*$%
i might use more HC suppositories too b/c he saw a hemmorhoid. he also did an anal pap smear to check for HPV since i had that in my cervix and it could spread to the anus and could be preventing or hindering healing. it's worth ruling out at least.
i hate myself so much for causing this all over again. i'm so afraid i'll never heal this fissure again w/o stitches or surgery. :(

Image so sorry to hear that Juney.
Dont hate yourself for causing it - you didn't cause it! In my own experience, I used to blame whatever I'd eaten/bathed in/done the day before, but it retears so often and mostly without any reason at all. I think we just have abnormal butts!
Have you tried using nitro or diltiazem again?
Hope you feel better soon Image
