This will be my last post in this thread.
8 weeks post-op..
I truly believe that I've turned a corner, my sphincter is a lot calmer and passing BM's is a breeze, the majority of the time there is NO pain whatsoever, but sometimes there's a little bit of discomfort if I have lots of BM's which is to be expected, my life no longer revolves around the bathroom it's kind of weird that it doesn't because it's what I was used to for the past 2 years or so.
My "now" diet consists of just about anything, I can eat pizza, chips, pies and even cheese (in small amounts) I'm still in the experimental stages though, the fissure diet is no longer required as I no longer feel I need it, I still drink copious amounts of water and have some fibre intake which I think is enough.
I've also stopped the Movicol as of 4 days ago and substituted it with Fybogel (Ispaghula Husk) which bulks up the stool, I never thought I'd give it up but thought it was time to give my bowels a well deserved break plus to see how my digestive system reacted without it, sure my stools are a lot firmer but not rock hard and funnily enough they don't cause any pain, I seemed to have more discomfort with the soft/runny stools, but I can honestly say there's no pain associated with well formed stools and the bonus is that there's not a lot of wiping/dabbing required after BM which keeps my ass happy!
Finally, I would like to thank everyone that gave me support through all this you have been the BEST!! this forum R O C K S.
