Hey Adam! Good to hear from you! It sounds like you are doing really well, even though you're not quite 100%. It's great that you can get back to almost a normal life, but it sounds like you've been insanely busy! :D
I was quite unhappy when my doc told me I had to yank my butt wound open so much. That just went against every instinct of self-preservation! I found it difficult because my butt would close up tight in self-defense and it was so difficult accessing the wound.
It sounds like you are eating very well. Everything you're having sounds really yummy! I eat tons of broccoli and salmon too. I'm so glad the omelettes worked for you. :D They really are the perfect food - protein, veggies and dairy, if you want it. One trick I learned recently is that you can cut the amount of milk you mix in by half if you put some water into the mix too. A bit of water also seems to make the eggs fluffier.
Your pizza is awesome!!!! I tried it a while ago and will make some more this week. Wow - it's nice to have tasty food again. I've been making lots of dishes with brown rice. I heap all kinds of veggies and even chicken onto brown rice, like a stir-fry, but without any oil. I steam the veggies and grill the chicken first before tossing them in a skillet for a quick simmer with a sauce. That way nothing is actually fried, but you can still get the flavour of the sauce into the veggies and chicken. That makes for a good meal and nice BMs for me.
I'm so sorry your experiment with beer didn't work out so well. :( I haven't had the courage to try any alcohol yet. You're very brave! You're probably right that you needed to drink more water with it. Are you taking any stool softeners? Maybe a beer with a Miralax chaser would work out? I wonder if there are any cocktails that would taste good, like maybe a miralax screwdriver?
The blood can be very discouraging! I bleed a wee bit with every BM, and have for about two months now. I can see where the blood is coming from - the ditch-like wound in my ass is healing slowly, but is not quite completely healed over yet. I had my follow-up on Aug 31st and my doc didn't seem too worried. He inspected everything quite closely and even gave me the ole finger-probe inspection and said everything looks and feels good and very close to healed. He did say that if I am still bleeding three months from now, he's going to stick a scope up my ass to check things out.

That's one helluva an incentive to heal!!!
Otherwise, I'm doing quite well these days (KOW!). I'm almost back to normal activity levels. My energy is still lower than it used to be and I still have to get some muscle tone, now that my weight is back to my pre-fissure normal range

After visiting so many doctors and consulting with GI specialists, all it took to gain weight was a visit from my mother, who stuffed me with cinnamon rolls. :D (I didn't mention that to my GI).
So when was your last follow up? Will you be getting another one? I'm so glad you are able to work out. I want to start doing more of that too - did you have any problems lifting weights? I was thinking I should start with light bicep curls just sitting down. I worry about how squats might affect the butt. Do you have any advice?
One pack of cigarettes every three days isn't too bad! You're doing better than me these days. I've been smoking about a pack every two days, but I'm working on getting the anxiety under control, so I hope to be back down to a pack a week soon.
Sorry I don't have any funny stories right now - my life has been pretty routine. But I am really glad that I'm now able to go out in the world without having anxiety attacks. :) I'm feeling much more human now. All I have to do is get rid of the cinnamon roll belly I developed.
I'm so happy you are doing well!
