quick question regarding LIS

As I have read, and forgive my pea-brain if I'm mistaken: once you have the LIS operation - which is to cut into the muscle inside - there could also be a re-tearing later in life? or am I mistaken? I have read where there has been re-tearing and new fissures are formed or did I have a "fluffy brain" or "brain fxrt" moment and am mixing myself up? Image

yes the LIS is a lateral cut into the sphincter muscle usually like 5mm, to release the spasm to let the fissure heal. yes there is a chance of a retear with LIS if you have constipation problems down the road, but a retear will heal quicker and is not as painful before LIS. I think if someone has a fissurectomy they can get a new fissure if constipation becomes a problem. Just b/c we have surgery, we still have to watch what we eat and take care of out butts. I know I don't ever want a retear!! It is a lifestyle change.
