Hi newbie but been reading your posts on my phone for days

[b]Hi guys I'm new here first time I've been able to post, been reading your posts for days and found this forum such a help and I feel a lot better about things. I couldn't comment before now because I've been using my phone to view it and everytime I tried to join it threw up an error message, so tonight I've taken the time to get on the computer and sign up so I can post.
Right well I'm a 27 year old female from the UK and have had my fissure since I gave birth to my daughter nearly 17 months ago, at first I just presumed it was piles, eventually plucked up the courage to see my doctor and was told (without an examination) that it was piles, various lotions later and creams and drinking pure orange juice as it helps me be looser (sorry for too much info) and still in agony with bms and a lot of blood, I started panicking thinking I'd got bowel cancer so went back again to my doctor, had an examination this time but still told its piles, so I was given some supositorys (can't spell sorry) and some more cream and told to get on with it for 2 weeks and see what happens, no improvement so went back again and the doctor refered me to a specialist, as soon as the specialist examined me he spotted the fissure, and told me I have a tear, didn't explain further just said after some questions that itd happened in childbirth and that hed inject botox and remove a skin tag, had that done just before Christmas (21st December) and it improved things, now I'm back to the pain and bleeding, does it ever end. So fed up. Seeing the surgeon/specialist again later this month so not sure what he will suggest. Sorry for the rant just wanted to talk to people who understand.

Awww Fedup, sorry you are suffering, but welcome to the forum!!! We all try to help each other here. From what I have read in the UK Botox is the first line of treatment with a fissure and it can take several rounds to decrease the spasms and several months to get to a specialist for surgery. At 17 months with a fissure, and a skin tag removed, it is chronic, meaning it won't heal without some sort of surgical intervention. For most, we have all used the creams and lotions and eventually, they just stop working. I had LIS this past Monday and am doing great. A little sore, but it is better than dealing with the agony of fissure pain and spasms all day. Are you taking Movicol?? I think that may be a little better than the OJ, the OJ has a lot of acid in it and can cause burning. Also several soaks in the tub with warm water for about 20minutes helps alot to. Ibuprofen takes the edge off as well. Hope you start feeling better soon Image

Sue and Granny, thanks for the messages. I'm quite new to all this up till September doctors told me it was piles, then specialist told me a fissure, then botox, and to be honest not been told a lot just to not get constapated. Helpful. So I'm not taking anything at the moment. Ill learn a lot here me thinks

Hi, fedup -
We all sympathize, because we've all gone through agony. Many of us here are still going through agony.
Watch your diet, take supplements, just try to keep things soft and easy. Do whatever it takes to take care of yourself.
I'll pray for you and wish you all the best.
