Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for your comments, I really do appreciate them and wow i never realised how many people were actually reading my posts!
As you can probably tell my time on this board is becoming less and less, this is purely because i am going out and enjoying all the things i have not been able to do for the past seven months.... life really is good for me now. All the pain, irratation, blood, discomfort, fissure diet, sitz baths, monitoring BM's, etc. are a thing of the past now.... I feel 100% normal again.
The weekend saw another milestone for me.... I put my 'ass bag' out with the rubbish (or garbage as some of you call it) - this is the bag which contains all my creams, medications, cotton wool, surgical gloves, etc. So i threw it out and cracked open a beer to wish it fairwell :D
I hope you've all had a pain free weekend and have positive news for us today

That's really fabulous, Davo! -- I do hope you'll be giving us some updates, with regard to your nuptials, etc. Don't leave us hanging about that -- and besides, the sufferers here are sorely (pun intended) in need of some humor, and you have a very good sense of humor.
Now . . . what about pizza? I haven't heard anything about your return to that . . . or, have I missed something?

ohhhh ok Sweet - we can continue to talk about pizza and my ass for a while longer then. Hey i actually did have pizza at the weekend, but i thought i would start off with something boring and make my way up to the big boy stuff so it was ham & pineapple with a BBQ & cheese stuffed crust from Dominos and ohhhh it was good.
We have this restaurant close by too which has a different slant on pizza's - do any on the attached link take your fancy?

Good heavens, Davo! Is that where you went to have pizza?? Wow, the choices!! Okay, so I think I'll have one of the Aussie pizzas - the one that seems the mildest - the Sydney, lol.
I'm eating pretty much what I want -- it's just that the changes I've made to my diet are changes I want to keep. I'm back at my high school weight now - and I even need to have some of my clothes taken in, because most of my dresses - and nearly all of my pants - are too big now.
Soreness - not bad, still there. It might be part of an arthritis thing in my tailbone. But still, I'm getting checked (again!) this coming Thursday, and we shall see what the crs says.
I'm still on the Miralax and fiber, though. This crs said I'd probably want to take the fiber from here on out. (I'm talking about Konsyl -- I shake a tsp. of it with water and drink it).

Davo
great you are fully recovered and have been able to get rid of your 'ass bag'! my cupboard is like a pharmacy!
Quick question...do you know what the chances of getting another fissure are again? I guess we'll all be a lot more aware of our BMs to avoid this happening again at all costs and might be a bit more careful with our diets etc but once you have had one are we prone to have them again or post successful surgery is that it??

Hi Gettingmedown,
The chances of a fissure recurrence post-LIS is very slim indeed - the sphincter is permanently relaxed and the cut takes most of the stress during BM's.
Ifyou were unlucky enough to get another fissure they would actually heal very quickly because of the relaxed sphincter. I was actually told by my surgeon that it is highly unlikely that i will ever get another fissure
Thanks for your comments
