Yaay! Glad it went well - do fill us in on details once you're feeling upto it.
And yes - I'm dealing with the same issue! I had two fistulas - one superficial one was laid open, the other one was much higher - so it was just partially laid open and there is a seton in it. I'm now 3 weeks and 2 days post surgery.
As you had a seton in, I would love to hear about the procedure they did today. My surgeon mentioned leaving my seton in for a few months and then doing a procedure under local anesthetic. I'm not sure what she's referring to, didn't have a chance to ask questions last time - so I'm just trying to educate myself on the various options.
Hope it's smooth sailing from here on for you!

hey Zee! good to hear you're doing well..
couple of questions for you - which fistula was the seton placed in? what exactly was involved in seton removal - did you have to have a fistulotomy, plug, etc? or was it literally just removed?
i apparently have a seton - i have yet to see it or feel it... i was told it seems to have cut through some of the muscle and moved lower (it's a draining seton though). i'm 6 weeks post surgery and still waiting for both wounds to fully heal. the superficial one needs to just "close over" now but i still get some blood when i wipe. i was told to stop packing the other one, but then i think it tried to close over from the outside - i now have to pack it again. it's about 0.5cm deep. i felt feverish and had that "odd" drainage one day last week - hasn't happened again since.. fingers crossed!

Hey Zee! Glad to hear you are well.
I've been okay overall. I actually have to visit my surgeon's nurse tomorrow morning so let's see what she says. I'm going away for about 2 weeks this coming weekend, so I'm a little worried about that. I'm no longer packing anything - but just keeping it clean with saline and tucking gauze to catch discharge. I've been told the discharge will probably continue for a little while.
Did you have much discharge with your seton in? When you have a minute, can you let us know what was done during the last surgery?
Good to hear from you!
