Vaseline to lubricate before a BM, sitz bath after, Questran to control diarrhea biles and Carlson suppositories before bed.
I can not use miralax or any fiber because my problem is not constipation but chronic diarrhea.
I always had mild stomach problems all my life on and off, but after I got my gallbladder remove in 2011 I developed constant diarrhea, I can not process fats or fatty foods after almost two years is an on and off diagestic problem I have to deal with.
So I never get constipated.

I could probably use some lube down there before bm. Did a doctor tell you that you can use Vaseline in butt??
I was worried that it will retain moisture or hinder the natural healing of fissure...

I use Vaseline before a bm. Just stick a blob on the opening, doesn't have o go in. It all gets wiped/cleaned off after.

Called crs today and asked two questions.
1)I haven't bled in a month with miralax and after exam I had a bm and blood, why?
2)I called another crs and he said he prescribes nifedipine, why didn't he give me cream?
Answer 1) exam probably opened it a little.
Answer 2)if miralax and diet don't work then nifedipine won't work. He also said he had patients referred to him from other surgeons that had already been started on nifedipine and he has never had any one that cream really helped.
I told him that if I'm not at least a little better than I am now when I get back from Maine next month then he is going to do Botox or lis or something! He said call me if it doesn't get better with miralax and diet.i said oh I will!...

Well it's been about a week and a half since I saw crs and I seem to be having less pain every week and still taking miralax cap full morning and night.its a very slow process, but at least I got the pain where it's bearable.

I had a similar experience with one of my followup appointments.
Everything was seemingly going well, and then he decided to be a hero and pry pry and pry. At first there wasn't the discomfort of the first visit, but eventually I felt the sharp pain I was all too familiar with. Took me a good week to get back to where I am now, and I'm afraid to go in for any more appointments. At least he wasn't pushing the issue either, just told me to come back as needed. I'm going to give it a few months of the current regiment (miralax, and tapering off of nitro).
Let this be a lesson to all. If you're going in for a followup and you KNOW it hasn't been long enough to heal (it had only been 2 weeks for me since starting treatment), tell the doctor to keep their fingers to themselves. Turns out they can easily do more bad than good.

Yes that is true! I'm going to give miralax another couple months and go from there. I decided not to use any creams due to possible side effects that could hinder the healing. I know creams have supposedly helped people heal faster, but I know my fissure was caused by constipation and giant poop. So maybe with miralax and soft poops it will heal over time. My pain is bearable as long as I don't sit a lot. It's frustrating that I have soft poops now with miralax and yet have the same pain everyday. I'm just hoping after another month it will be better. Even if its just a little better, as long as it gets better every month then it will eventually heal. Crs said that it could heal after a few months of miralax. He said if he did surgery now then it would still take a few months to heal. If I had surgery then I would never know if it would have healed with just miralax. It just sucks that I have to wait a few months to find out! I agree with crs about not rushing into cutting my butt though. My butt is a ton better though since I started miralax even though it still hurts. Well I will keep y'all updated.

delasama sorry I didn't comeback to answer your post.
No, the doctor didn't told me to use Vaseline but I do it anyway and still do even when my fissure is no bothering much, just a mild irritation here and there.
I see you are doing better, Delasama, for some things get better without having surgery, hopefully you will be able to either heal completely or get the fissure under control to live a comfortable life even if is still there, like me right now.

Thanks marg6043. It's a lot better since being on miralax. I'm hoping it will keep getting better. Even if it just gets a little better I could live with it. Right now there is no pain to poop, but if I sit a lot it feels like Johnny cash is playing my nerves like guitar strings...
