Hello hereinfb,
Nope, not all fissures bleed. I developed mine last December and have never once had bleeding; just pain. Some others on this forum have had the same (no bleeding, just pain).
January 2013 - Diagnosed with fissure. Eventually turned chronic.
History of IBS and anxiety disorder, along with fear of using bathrooms other than my own caused it.
Tried Diltiazem, but eventually developed a rash.
LIS surgery scheduled August 26th.

Hereinfb,
I echo Luka! - Never ever any bleeding for me either but all that horrendous horrible afterpain that lingered for hours when the fissure was at it's worst.......
Do get it checked out by a CRS, if you haven't already, because it will still need to be treated in the same way.
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011
Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013
Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012
2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups

Hi Hereinfb,
For me it depends. Sometimes I get bleeding, sometimes I don't! There were times when I get acute tears they don't bleed. It's my chronic ones that bleed! I agree with Ever the Optimist, get it checked out! :)
