Hey Steve, that's exactly the same routine that I went through. When I got out of the sitz bath, if I still had pain, I would lie down on a heating pad, which helped quite a bit.

Hey Phil, I use a heating pad as well, it goes in the microwave for a couple of minutes then into a sleeve and I pop it down my trousers while I'm lying down since I can't sit at the moment!

I couldn't really sit either at the point you are at. I had an electric heating pad that I plugged in and it had adjustable heat settings. I would lie down on my back with it under my bum.

Electrical heat pad would be the way to go.I would lie down on my side, place it on my bum and I would press a pillow against it to keep it in place.I would only keep it on for 15-20 min before I start sweating down there.using it during shopping tho might be a problem since you're going to have to find a wall socket.

5 days out from post LIS surgery and I discovered a great perk in my truck. Heated seats. Therapy on the go!
