Re: LIS incision site questions

Worrier, I am sorry to hear to that you are having issues with keyhole leakage. Two weeks post LIS is way to early to tell if it is a long term issue. Your anal muscle tone is going to change, and the skin at the incision and fissure site are going to change ...

LIS incision site questions

... it's going to "heal over". Since stool is leaking out of this groove after a BM, does this mean that my incision site has formed a "keyhole" or "gutter" deformity? I'd really like some help on this, since it's been 2 weeks and I'm still experiencing problems with cleaning ...

Problems with my LIS

... any chance that this will fill in as it heals, so that my anus forms a seal properly again? Does it sound like I have a problem known as a "keyhole defect", where a gutter forms in the anal canal that allows stool to seep out? Or does it sound like the surgeon cut too much of my muscle. ...

Re: Leakage 8 months post-op?

... was done, and I can see a sort of crater where the stool is collecting/leaking from. I'm really worried that this is what is known as a "keyhole deformity" and that leakage/soiling will be a permanent issue for me. Any of the old posters on this thread have an update on their situations?

Re: Recent LIS - please answer

... cleaning you are having is just from scarring that getting poop stuck to it during BMs. That is very common. It's also possible that the "keyhole" you are seeing is perfectly natural and may even have nothing to do with surgery. If you had LIS 5 days ago, how is it possible that you ...

Re: Recent LIS - please answer

I know I'm living up to my name here but the more I read about it the more I am convinced that my LIS has resulted in a keyhole deformity. When I first looked at the area after surgery I thought the the incision site was a little higher than I expected - I thought it would be exactly ...

Re: haemorrhoidectomy nightmare

... would entitle you to significant legal damages. The surgeon would have had to inadvertently cut down into the muscle, leaving a defect, known as a keyhole deformity...This would be confirmed I believe with either a anoscopy, or a the anorectal ultrasound/proctogram that you had. Do you have access ...

Re: Anyone here regret their LIS?

Would you consider corrective surgery to stop the leakage? Or one of those injections? Did a doctor tell you what is anatomically causing the leaking...i.e. a keyhole defect or a weak muscle...Have they given you any options to correct the problem?
