Re: New, but not new to fissures

I’m so sorry to read you are going through so much at the moment.
Try to put a blob of Vaseline on your anus before a bm… it helps to protect the skin.

I wish you luck with the chemo x

Re: Anal fissure

Did the dr prescribe you anything to treat a fissure? It might be worth asking for some nitroglycerin to start using if not.

Re: Bike seat. can I bike ?

I wouldn’t fancy riding a bike, but I know others don’t have much of a problem… especially if you can stand up to ride.

Re: Owmybum s flap diary

Still struggling with the fissure… but struggling even more with awful coccyx pain. I think my pelvic floor muscles have gone into spasm all over.
I’m so fed up of this every couple of years. Sigh.

Re: My fissure journey and some links

Hi Camry,

No, the sudocream doesn’t really stop the stinging… but it protects the fissure from moisture.

Re: An unexpected success... fixed my ‘healed’ chronic pain

My dr had trouble bringing up the nifedipine… she’s not sure she can prescribe it… she said she will look into it.
I was always told it wasn’t licensed to use over here in the uk… but that was a few years ago now.
Do you tolerate it well?
