Butt Blog Update: day 43
2 BMs today, first was fine, most probably a Bristol 4, but a thinner version than my pre-op tree log 4s. 2nd was also ok, bit uncomfortable, but I can't actually remember what a "normal" poop feels like any more, were they slightly uncomfortable back in my youth and then you get a feelin of relief? I really can't remember.
Either way had the "butt hole is trying to whistle" feeling again after both. Bit uncomfortable to sit for too long.
"I.m watching my cat take a dump in her litter box, you know we can learn from our pets.lol."
- please go away
Please - this made me snort laugh. It's funny how we can talk to each other so openly. Dump. Such a great word!
My friends kitten used to face the wall and meow until he finished. Cats are hilarious.
ETO is great you have such an open relationship with your little one, but I couldn't have anyone near me whilst on the loo. Pre-op I needed full concentration on my butt. Whether it was hugging my towel or chanting that "I'm ok", I needed all my thoughts on putting myself in a safe place. Since my first few BMs after my op, I've done neither of those things. In fact, I even read a magazine today. It's crazy!
As for encouraging, squatting is supposed to be the best position to clear your bowels so I heard. The Chinese often use them. You just make sure that little girl gets all your new good habits and saves her from ever going through what he mum went through!
Edel, you know how much your body can handle, so take it one step at a time. In wor I could get a pain from just walking to the printer and then other times I an walk for miles up hills. It's all about how you feel that day, but don't push it, just master walking before you run as they say.
Hope it all goes well with your CRS, fingers crossed you'll be near healed. My CRS appointment is in Sept! 3 months post-op which I think is disgusting. I actually think this September appointment might actually be my original appointment which I managed to fast track in to see the CRS before his other patients due to my mums pleading. I really hope it isn't though. Waiting lists are ridiculous in Wales.
Thanks all for your kind words.

Hope you're healing!!

Hi Welsh, I got a question for ya..In the beginning I was using Restoralax (Canadian version of Movical).
If I'm correct, do you take it every day? The reason I ask , because I might start taking it again, if my colon stay's sluggish.
Is it safe to be on it long term or will one become depended on it? Of course your situation and health issues are different.
I can wait to see what MY Gastro, Doc suggests.
Thanks my welsh friend..:)

Hey PGA, I wasn't told about stool softeners before or after my op. no idea why as there's no way I'd be near healed if I'd done it on diet alone.
2 days after my op, I read on here about Movicol and ordered some online and my nan gave me some of hers. At first I took one in the morning and the second at night. And this seemed to work for me, I then got to the time of the month and my stools changed slightly so I upped it to 3 a day (out of fear). Since then I haven't looked back.
I take one as soon as I get up (and by one I mean a sachet with 125ml of hot water) then ill have breakfast a couple hours later. I take my second after lunch. Then my third about 2 hours after my evening meal (usually about 8-9).
When I realised how Much it would cost me to buy Movicol online, I went I the doctors to get it on prescription (as we get free prescriptions here in wales on the NHS) and he gave me a different named one, which wasn't as effective. I marched straight back and got me some of the good stuff! Mooooovicol!
It has definitely helped me 100% without a doubt. I've asked a number of people including the doctor if its ok long term and its true. It also says on the packaging - for long term use 1-2 sachets a day.
I intend in having 3 a day up until my next appointment in Sept and hopefully he'll say I'm healed. At this time I will reduce to 2 a day and then in another 3 months I'll have 1 a day.
I know that Rachael1984 has 1 1/2 a day which works for her but my digestive system doesn't react to the usual suspects that make people poop. Coffee, prunes, oranges. Nope. Not for me. I never poop at the same time everyday. Sometimes it's once, twice, three times and never at the same times. This is the reason I take 3.
I would say my butt is a lot tighter these days and I'm going to need to stretch it eventually back to my giant log 4s but by then I'll hopefully be healed.
Butt Blog Update: day 44
2 BMs today. Both fine. The second one crept up on me while I was out shopping in a department store and I had to go... In a public toilet... Waaaaaaaaah.
It was awful. The unfamiliar cubicle walls, the constant interruption of other jabbering women rushing in and out. The lack of Andrex washlets. I had to use... Cheap toilet paper. Waaaaaah! Sob.
But actually I was fine. I'd felt it about 20 mins before but was busy trying clothes on. I managed to hold it in which is great. I know that the Botox hasn't made me incontinent.
Had to walk slowly after it though. It's an emerging pattern. Poop = take it easy for a bit.
Hope you're all good today.
Lots of healing love!

2 BMs today. Both fine.  Oh Welsh, your even funny with out trying. (mity fine poop's)Image
Well I think I'm going to start the Restoralax (same as the American and UK one). My BM crown's by my rectum, I have to use the gentle squeeze(my cheek's) and release technique to let my peep's(alias poop's) out.
For some reason, even though there soft, maybe I have become tighter there or it has temp, shut down, no pain yet..Image
Oh well..take care,,easy does it after a popping a poop..lol.even a mity fine one or two.

Hey Welsh,
Good to hear all is going well for you. As for getting caught out and having to use public toilets, I carry a packet of handy "Soft" tissues in my bag now and a pack of Huggies natural care wipes which contain Aloe & Vitamin E. And also scented nappy sacks too!! Just in case I get caught out when out of the house.
Im sure if I ever fainted and people searched my bag for ID, they would think I must have left a Baby somewhere due to the contents of my bag!!
But the thought of having no wipes, and having to use hard loo roll on my now completely pampered and spoilt Bum, would just send me into a panic like no other.
So no, I dont have the usual handbag of make up, brush, perfume.. I have wipes, soft tissues, scented nappy sacks, and a little pot of witch hazel & cotton pads!!
Just has to be done Image
Be well all Image  X

Butt Blog Update:Day 45
Had a BM today which was fine. A little hard to begin then a Bristol 4. I'm a bit concerned that either my incision site where my skin tag was removed is a bit aggravated and is leaking a bit. It's either that or my perenium has also formed its own little personal skin tag (must've got a bit jealous and decided it wanted a pet). That area is a bit tender. Wonder what's going on down there.
Sunshine - I'm usually very good with packing a bag, but I haven't really been out in public since before my op (aside from supermarkets and work). I guess I got a bit excited about going shopping and I even forgot to take a coat - and low and behold it thrashed down as soon as I got into town. Wet, hungry and in need of a poop is not a good combination. Onwards am upwards!

Butt Blog update: Day 46
Having a few unusual days. 3 BMs today. Last one started off as a BS 1 and finished on a 4. No blood. Just uncomfortable.
For some reason I've got a bit of an itchy rash there now, very similar to what happened with the GTN (glycerol trinitrate). Itchy itchy itchy. Not sure if its irritated from the Diltiazem and a combination of using sanitary towels.
Image
Bit sensitive at the moment is me old butt.
Rach - what's going on with this weather?! Make up your mind. I can't plan my day otherwise.
PButt that perenium skin tag is a bit sore. Trying to ignore it (like you would with someone you dont like) and hopefully it'll go away. "Go away you naughty tag" doesn't seem to be working.
No shooting pains again though which is good. Just this damn rash. Hoping it'll settle down in the next couple of days. I need some pants made of an angel's wings to be nice to the area. Hmmm... Wonder if I can get some off Amazon.
Hope you're all healing.
