I was wondering what was protocol for skin tag wound care ? Anybody that had them removed - please give me some tips of what to do and what not Any special creams? iodine? Nothing ?

fissy, i had stitches and they are quite sore for a while. they are supposedly dissolvable and they say they dissolve quickly but at my check up, one of the stitches was still there and made it sore for ages. he didnt pull it out because he said it would come out on its own. i didnt use anything on mine, just kept having salty baths. i dont think its advisable to put anything on them and i was squeamish about it anyway so i wouldnt have put anything on it anyway, but then thats just me, i dont like blood n stuff!

instead of the usual baby wipes, i found it best to use the shower head for cleaning up for at least a couple of weeks as i didnt want to disturb the stitches

Yep, that is what I did too. No creams no wipes, just shower off. The stitches will dissolve on their own.

I think I am going to order some of the Mebo product that Sadiebum had mentioned. I just can't seem to get the tissue to gain enough strength down there that it gets reinjured so easily. It is called wound repair. But my skin tag healed very nicely just by babying the area.

Val - buddy - I thought about you whole night and suddenly I remembered you mentioning that you are hypothyroid and remembered that we learned in physiology that Thyroid also regulates inflammatory processes in the body. Could it be that your nerve goes through some inflammatory process : (( ? Steroid injection would calm it down very fast in that instance ! Just a thought buddy, hang in there : (, only 2 more days - specialist will know so much more about the situation - I am sure

I hope so much that you are not bleeding today and that "fairy -squat" is helping with pain ! Thanks for giving me directions about tag place care - not many people had it removed , and most left the forum so it is hard to find first hand info.

Still having some bleeding but it is better. I tried squatting and it hurt worse. I have to be the weirdo in which everything that should help, doesn't! I went ahead and ordered the Mebo wound repair cream. I am using diltiazem again but my butt is so sensitive from all the creams I have used in the last few years.

lecia - just wanted to chime in here, i tried squatting for a few weeks and it was great at first but it just put so much pressure on the area....it can't be good for those of us w/ issues down there already! i stopped immediately after i noticed more problems.

Thanks for your feedback, Juney I felt like such a failure. It did put a lot of pressure there and I have been in more pain all day since I tried that. My husband likes it because he only has to go once a day now but for me, I started getting pain in my rectum where I have never had pain before just using it once!

Guess I can check that one off the list!

Sorry the natural way did not work Lecia! I think Juney maybe right - It maybe to much pressure for us. Happy does it and it seams to work for him though. At least your husband likes it and it works withhis hemmies!

It makes it all go out fast - there is hard to "temper" the process. Yes, I can totally see how it might not work for people with already compromised area : ((. It worked great for me for a while, but I did not use a platform and my feet started to hurt and also I re-injured my butt anyway so I decided to sit down again - too much acrobatics with little help LOL. And I guessed I will not be able to do that for life, so I better solve this problem some other way !
Sorry Lecia baby that it made you hurt more : ((( - I hope pain will go away in a jiffy !!!!
