Ah ok. So it definitely seems to me like there is scar tissue or a sensitive area where the fissure was - since we each have tightness on the side where the fissure was. Mine was very severe also but did heal. I think this is a matter of the very sensitive nerve endings down there. I'm the same - good in the morning then worse as the day goes on, especially since I often have to go again in the evening. As healing continues I hope it will die down!!

And yes - what a great Christmas gift that would be!!! This is no fun for sure - but we have to stay positive!

Yes, we have to retrain those nerve endings and memory muscle since it's involuntary... time heals all wounds!

Mamafizz I've had mine since mid September of this year. I got another in October. According to my gastro (who had a good look when I had my colonoscopy) both are healed. I have used nifedipine daily since the start.

Have you had an anuscope/sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy?

Hi MF,
I'm sure the Botox will help you with the spasms and tightness, although all my spasms and pain comes from my fissure the Botox stopped the spasms straight away and after 2/4 weeks I had no pain just discomfort. So hopefully you will be better soon.

Yes all of that stopped after about week 3 was still getting discomfort but that went at about week 4 I could actually feel that my sphincter was much less tight so I'm sure you will feel much better
