Tabby - buddy - you are not an airhead Image - I just have too many appointments lately Image - I have to stick post-its all over my kitchen so I do not forget any Image
Well - app, was semi-productive Image She wants to check my blood herself Image and I
ended up loosing about 7 vials of blood :flush: - and she never heard about "infusion" even though her nurse did LOL , so no luck there - I got a list of iron rich food and wanted to die of laughter Image . Anyhuu - whole day I spent with some kind of medical personnel and I am starting getting conniptions any time I see any white or green coat Image Image Image .
LOVE YOUUUUU Image

Hey buds Image I know Image She sends me to do all of those unnecessary tests and than all come back OK and than discussion is over. She is going to check for hemoglobin and that is not the best test to determine anemia - I tried to hint , but NO - she is going to do it her own way as they all do. I am so sick and tiered of educating doctors that I just feel like giving up Image I mean - I talked to her nurse while waiting and she told me about injections of Iron she was getting and that insurance covered it completely since her ferritin was below 10, and so forth. When I came into the exam room , I asked GP about infusion she understood "transfusion" - that is how strange "infusion" concept to her is Image I tried to explain but she looked at me blank. Than I asked - OK -how about injections - she started talking about injections that stimulate kidneys and were high risk causing heart-attacks and so forth - I just gave up - she has NO idea that Fe injections exist obviously - what could I do LOL ???? I prepared of how to convince her to give me infusion regardless that my fer. is 14 and not below 10 because it is borderline and I can not take supplements - I was not definitely prepared for a doctor that never heard of Fe injections or infusions Image Image . I am looking for a new Gyn so I will try to ask for those from him/her when I get there - this is just unbelievable Image - like I am asking for a Strontium Image .
Anyways - I am trying to stay calm since I am getting palpitations already off all the stress Image - not to mention that palpitations can be caused by anemia Image
Thanks buddies for your concern - maybe I should go to some nutritionist or something - those doctors are just waste of time and energy Image

Fissy, is palpitations when your heart beats rapidly? I had that before I got the iron infusions. Now I only feel a bit dizzy, but that is because I eat little.
The iron infusions I get is called Venofer : http://www.venofer.com/VenoferHCP/new_home.asp
Next week will be my last dose (13 in all), I'm exited to see how much higher my Fe level will be. It takes about 2 hours each time and they inject it different places each time...
If you feel weak Fissy, I don't understand why she will not give it to you...
I have also visited a nutritionist, and it was very helpful, so yes Fissy that would a good idea for you to try...
Why can' t you take iron pills? Will they constipate you, even though you are prone to constipation? (Lecia learned me that word: prone...hope I use it right?)
Don't give up sweetie Image
