Amy,
In what area are you concentrating--couples' therapy, drug problems, alcoholism, etc.? What are you planning for the subject of your dissertation?

I am really sorry to read all that you have gone through Amy ..
I am another Botox junkie - I had one shot in September I had great results with it but opted for LIS rather than a second shot …
I have had my fissure 2 years this March :pvn:
I like your kitty Image

Yeah, I thought maybe I would be an interesting case but really no takers even at a medical school!

I used to read one of the PNE boards and would just sit and sob because it did make me feel hopeless and being a somewhat pessimistic person I didn't need to add that too. So, I don't go there anymore either.

I wanted to ask-even though the recovery from the surgery was awful, do you think that it helped in the long run? You seem to be pretty high functioning so something must be helping? Sorry to get off topic-I know you came here for AF help!

Me too Amy, and my CRS even higher hopes, but things are so fragile down there. If I want to have a fissure that behaves I can hardly eat, and it has to be mostly liquid food.

Amy -
I think I will be the only one to say this, but I had no issues with sitting after surgery. My fissure actually never caused me any problems with sitting even at its worst flare up. The only time sitting bothered me was when I had hemmie issues. Sitting was nearly impossible then.

Amy,
Before I started my A/D, I used Heartmath. Don't know if you have heard of it or not??? (heartmath.com).
Thanks for answering my question. Your upcoming dissertation sounds interesting. I am a strong believer in meditation. I have a minor in psyche. Currently am reading the book, "Spiritual Healing," which I am enjoying. Also a big believer in the mind/body connection. So happy you have joined our little group! :D

Amy,
I'll check out that book!! I stumbled across "Spiritual Healing" in the lib as it was next to the book I was going to check out, "How Doctors Think." I started a book thread once, but I don't think that anyone else posted to it. Hope you can get a second LIS approved for yourself if that is what you think you need.
