Gas, Gurgling, and Too Soft BMs

Postby sb2 » 29 Jun 2014, 08:18

After a week or so of regular mirilax usage (full dose before bed) with no side effects, all of a sudden I am noticing a lot of stomach activity (gurgling and the like), and having to go more than once per day. The first BM is great, but it is followed by the gurgling and eventually a second BM that is too soft and irritating.

Is this a common side effect of mirilax and is there anything that counterbalances this?

Hi SB2,

I have been on the MiraLax for the past year. You may try taking the MiraLax at dinner time with when eating, and you can always reduce the dose to get the best balance for you.

Try a probiotic to help your digestive system. I like the brand Align. it is a bit expensive, but it works best for me.

I had that gurgling, thought it was mixture of fiber supplement and miralax. I cut down on miralax it seemed to help. I stRt with 2 tsp and cut it to one. Good luck

I have occasional diarrhea with miralax (every week or two). So do others on this forum. I switched to the generic brand, like others recommended, and all is now well.
