Sentinel tag with a (probably) healed fissure

Postby palaeo » 05 Apr 2015, 11:33

In January I felt like I had developed a second fissure. (I had a fissurectomy for an earlier fissure that has now healed.)

There wasn't much pain and there was blood maybe once but I got a prescription for Nifedipine anyway. I stopped applying it maybe a month or two ago because I had (and have) no pain and no blood. I just feel a little funny down there.

A couple of days ago a felt a little nub, what I'm assuming is a tag, similar to when I had my first fissure. I really don't want to go to the doctor. I've become phobic about the whole thing. Can I just let the tag be? It doesn't hurt when I touch it. Or could it be a hemorrhoid?

If you have no pain and no blood (hooray for you!!), I would leave the tag alone and not worry about it. Just make sure you have a good regimen of diet and hydration, and keep your stools soft.
Hopefully it's just a remnant of old wounds and won't bother you.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Thank you for the reply.

I'm definitely keeping hydrated and trying to keep stress at bay. I have IBS which makes matters worse. So, *fingers crossed*!
