Amal fissure

Postby Debbie » 11 Jul 2018, 16:49

Hello I'm new to this forum.
6 weeks ago I discovered I have a anal fissure. I done everything I could thought of.
I been to the ER , I been to the doctor, even Urgent care and one month to an UI doctor.
ER, doctor and urgent care said I have a fissure, in there nothing I can do. Just for to deal with it.
If you have a better solution I sure would appreciate it......thank you . I have never heard or had one a fissure before.

Which country are you located in? You definitely do not need to just 'deal with it'. If there are colorectal specialists in your area then try to find a good one and get an appointment soon. There are several ointments that can be used such as nitroglycerin, nifefipine or diltiazem. Other options are botox or surgery.

Stool softeners such as miralax or magnesium are essential for keeping BMs soft to aid healing. Warm sitz baths or compresses bring blood flow to the area. Eat a well balanced diet and avoid anything that causes hard or large BMs.

Yes people do heal but often the healing is difficult when the issue is chronic, which is why many people opt for LIS surgery or ask for Botox as a last resort before surgery.
