When LIS doesn't work

Postby CM in VA » 17 Apr 2021, 23:26

I had LIS 2 months ago and I'm not healing. My CRS suggests a colonoscopy to try to figure out if there is some underlying cause. Has anyone else run into this? BTW - I am thrilled to find this group. It is very helpful to me emotionally, but most posts are several years old. Is anyone still out there?

Hi, I'm sorry you are still having issues after surgery. Sounds like you will have to see what they find with a colonoscopy.

My LIS healed within 2-3 weeks. It was fairly routine in spite of how many years I suffered. In fact my CRS was nonchalant about it. "I've seen worse," he said. He had me do an anal manometry test to make sure I was strong enough for the surgery and then it was go time. I am sure there are many people who had an LIS that didn't heal well on here. You can do a search. I am beyond fortunate and grateful to have this behind me. This week is the 6 month anniversary of the LIS. Good luck and keep us posted.
