LIS

Hi everyone,I finally had the surgery.got home just 15 mins back.I went in around 4.20pm and it was scary.i had Partial LIS and skin tag removal. My crs spoke to hubby and explained it was a nasty fissure and the skin tag was very odematous.he's done LIS along the fissure and put 2 stitches.he's closed the sides of the fissure and the rest is open to heal.he's hopeful it will work as my resting pressure was very high.he said i will feel bruised and battered but pain shud disappear soon as the sphincter will be divided.
when i woke up in recovery,i was very tearful.after so many months of agony id finally had the op.i remembered u all so much in the recovery room.i was having pain when i woke up n was given painkillers.the pain still hadnt subsided and they wanted to give me more fentanyl for which i had to be observed for 2 hrs.i heard the nurse arranging a bed for me for the night.i freaked out and luckily the pain subsided.i would rather get back home in pain than stay there.all this while i just kept on thinkn of my son.
i had a cheese and onion sandwich of brown bread.so scared of BM.i feel i have to go now.
feeling lightheaded still and sleepy.ill write more tomorrow.
hows everyone feeling today?thanks guys for the amazing support.

Watch the cheese!!
I am so happy for you Pinky and I pray that this is the beginning of the end for you! Rest for the next week or two if you can, and don't sit on your butt directly, even if it feels fine, OK? Don't change your diet at all and stay hydrated.
Rest, rest, rest now!!
Good luck!

Yeah Pinky! Way to go! You did it!

Now get some rest and take some pain killers. The first BM is not that bad! Just remember to soak after those BM's - it really helped me post op!!!

Hey Pinky -girl Image - YOU DID IT Image We are ll so proud of you Image !!! Take it easy now and be religious about your baths and diet to help your fissure now heal once and for all Image !!!
Keep us posted as much as you can Image And yes - don't dread much your first bathroom visit - it is not going to hurt more than a fissure - actually , most likely it will hurt MUCH less !!!!
Happy healing !!! Image Image Image

Glad to hear you are home safe and sound!  Don't be alarmed if tomorrow you feel worse.  There will be ups and downs with this healing but the spasms should feel a lot better at least. You're gonna make it!

Pinky Image
It's normal be upset and freak out after LIS because you don't know what to expect, but just relax and rest as much as possible. As Kim says, don't sit on your butt. The pain might be horrible Pinky (you've had surgery), but it will subside eventually.
Take care now Image

Yes, you just had surgery yesterday so I wouldn't expect a bm necessarily today but probably by tomorrow.  But the GA takes a while to get out of your system and you aren't eating very much for days.I think the painkillers can also make us feel depressed as they do slow the CNS.  I am not sayng you shouldn't take it but just be aware that it might be part of what is going on plus you are weak and have low blood sugar.  Be good to yourself and take your sitzbaths and keep your stools soft and allow yourself that you will be in pain but it is healing pain now and you will get better.  I know that is what you would tell a patient, so do the same thing for yourself.
