wow pinky, your day sounds miserable! i can't believe you had to go under GA again so soon. Your healing course has definitely been side tracked by something (maybe the invisible infection?) so it will probably take you longer to recover. Just be patient and give it time. that's all we can do. I'm sorry you're suffering so much since surgery. I can't even begin to identify with the baby issues as I don't have children. But it must be awful dealing with all this on top of a new baby. i hope things just get better from here!

Oo Pinky…
You poor babe my heart really does go out to you just now Image I am so sorry this happened to you :(
I did wonder if everything was Ok as we hadn’t seen you for a while..
Now back to the healing part.....You are going to get better thats for sure, these are your darkest days, please do not give up hope...... All is not lost !
Its a very positive sign that BMs are becoming less painful for you ! That is a very good start considering you have been proded and put under G/A again Image
I know you must feel so miserable right now, not being able to feed your son and having him pine for you must be so heartbreaking, I do hope the little one takes to the bottle, your wellbeing is very important right now...
Please be good to yourself Pinky Image
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.....
xx

mine was different in that the BMs were painful and then the pain subsided. Also, because i had a fistula before my surgery, that was damn painful and i always thought that the pain after the op was a "healing" pain rather than an infected pain, if that makes any sense!
It will get better, once it starts getting better you'll probably notice significant improvement fairly quickly.
Maybe the people who have said not to take the risk breastfeeding are just trying to cover their own arses in case they get blamed or sued?? Just a thought, you know what a "nanny" state we live in at the moment.
Best of luck, whatever you decide to do!

There is all sorts of hope, Pinky. I can name several folks who come back here pretty regularly who healed from LIS, or Botox.
The worst was over in a week, as far as painful burning BMs, but I rarely had that before the LIS -- I had painful spasms, for the most part.
The pain is what is making you despair -- don't let it. You'll heal better if you keep your chin up and believe in your healing.
Your recovery period will pass by quickly. You will get your life back, Pinky, very soon!

i just want to reiterate...don't worry if your pain doesn't completely subside in a week like kim keeps saying. everyone is different and 1 week was surely not enough for me after any of the 3 anal surgeries i've had. i'm 11 days out from my 3rd surgery now and still having some pain and taking it super easy. don't try to do too much too soon, even if you feel up to it.

Hi Pinky Image !!! What an ordeal Image - but the worst id now behind you and may it stay that way Image !!! It must be hard to hear your baby cry for you and fuss - oh boy :( ! I did not breast-feed my kids - I wanted "to share" experience of taking care of baby with my hubby in all aspects and to save my "bresticals" LOL , but I can completely understand the frustration and confusion :( ! Do you have some "milk bank" around. Here in the USA there are voluntary organizations who collect milk from breast-feeding moms and share them in such circumstances !
I am so sorry that you had to go through all of this Image - but you are now on the road of recovery and just be religious about soaks and everything else. Don't put too much pressure on yourself about the speed of healing - everybody is different. The most important thing is to reach the goal - to heal the fissure - and it can take several weeks - up to 12 ! Pain will gradually subside more and more every day though. I had 2 LIS-es and first time around I was pain free same day - this time around I would be happy if I become pain free in 6 weeks Image !!! So keep things in prospective and all will be fine Image !!!
Best of luck to you and your family Image

Sorry today isn't any better but remember you are not alone. You've had surgery and that takes time to heal plus you just went though a second "look-see" and that can irritate the area too. Just keep that in mind. You are where you are supposed to be. There is no real timeline for healing just generalities. Part of healing is accepting where you are and believing that it will get better. Your body knows what it is doing and I bet if you give it a week before comparing you will see that you are improving. The day to day comparisions just don't work with this type of injury/surgery.
You're in my thoughts and prayers.
