Hi, Alyssa,

I received mine on July 26th and started using it right away.

I was using just Emuaid and lidocaine cream recently (for pain - although it doesn't do much) and I was barely managing, except I was getting extremely itchy. That told me that the area possibly didn't like that ointment. I've switched over completley to the olive oil ointment with occasional lidocaine. I haven't noticed any true healing yet, but the itching is gone. I've added zinc and coconut oil gelcaps to my diet hoping to give my system a boost at healing.

Although I can't say that it's helped, it hasn't hurt, either. I've been this way for nine months so I don't expect a significant change in a couple of days, I guess.

I will try anything and everything. I do not want to have surgery because I've read about too many cases where it either didn't work or the side effects made life difficult. The pain may yet get me to change my mind, but I would resort to having someone cut me only if there was absolutely no other choice.

I hope that it definitely works for you. Keep me posted, ok? I wish you the best of luck.

Hi Alyssa! Sorry for not responding sooner! Somehow I did not receive a notice of a response in the thread. I'm gonna check my settings. Anyway, I am probably too late to help but the second link is exactly what I purchased for the fissure treatment. I actually tried samples of all the other oils too because you can buy them in a small amounts...they are great for your face, hair and teeth but believe me...anything with lemongrass, lavender, vanilla or any other essential oil mixed in will most likely light your butt on fire (and not in the good way haha). The plain ozonated olive oil has been pain free for me and also useful for all other body parts as well. Hey, sorry again and I hope you are well.
Update to treatment posts; things are still good here but it takes constant vigilance to prevent prevent reinjury, which is a pain in the butt all on its own but certainly preferable to the alternative.

Hi Lee,
I am reading this thread on my phone...small type and new eyeglasses makes me miss half of everything, but luckily I caught your post after rereading! I have found that Epsom salt soaks especially after going to the bathroom have been a huge part of healing. And then because its purpose is to reduce edema by drying out the tissue, I make sure to always lube up, with the ozone oil or coconut oil or both. Sometimes even some 2.5% hydrocortisone cream if I feel some injury. Have you tried Epsom salt in the soaks? I found that just regular hot water soaks were not enough. I hope you are feeling better!

veronicalikes,

Thanks for responding as well... glad to hear that you are well but it does suck to always have to be vigilant with the diet! I want to be able to eat; I lost around 20 pounds myself since I can't eat much because of my a** pain.

Oh man...that sucks. Being afraid to perform basic human functions such as intake and output is a horrible way to live. And even if someone wants to trim down, doing so out of fear of butt reprisal is hardly rewarding. I am not sure how long you have been suffering like this but if you stay vigilant with wound care, maybe even more so than diet, you are bound to find the stasis that allows your body to heal. I know for myself that my little unfortunate depilitory accident will haunt me forever in terms of wound prevention but somehow I got a handle on it as and you will too. I honestly never thought too much about my a**hole before all of this...and now I am probably going to have to be just a bit a**hole-centric for the rest of my life. Good fun...not. But manageable. Hang in there!

Veronicalikes,

My fissure has been healed for a 3 months but I continue to have pain! I am afraid to eat because it has to come out and when it comes out it hurts :(

There's also a treatment offered by ozone therapy clinics: rectal insufflation. Has anyone tried this? I don't know if it would heal AF, just read about this and thought people use ozonated olive oil too. I haven't tried rectal insufflation because I'm breastfeeding and don't know would it be safe to try this treatment now, especially when there is no guarantee this would heal me.

But if someone knows about this, it would be interesting to hear!

Hi, Veronicalikes,

Thanks for the reply. You've become a great source for information.

I have not tried epsom salt, but it sounds like I should. I stopped the baths because it dried me out and made me more sore, so I was hesitant.

I was using the ozonated olive oil for just a few days, but other than relieving the itching, it didn't seem to change my condition. I was using Emuaid and lidocaine before that, but switched to just the olive oil and lidocaine and didn't notice any difference. Pain throughout the morning, better in the afternoon and pain in the evening, then ok when sleeping (typically use the bathroom twice in the morning and once in the evening). The next morning I would wake up and almost immediately I would prepare myself mentally for another serious struggle with pain. Puts a damper on the day.

Yesterday, I purchased some 100% coconut oil (no virgin oil nearby) and it actually helps as it is the best lubricant I've tried. Oddly, it almost feels better than anything I've tried in my nine months in this condition. My opinion now is, if I don't reduce the pain, then I won't heal, so if I can get the pain down, then maybe I have a chance. Sometimes I have hemmorroids, but this is reduced dramatically with the coconut oil, so far.

Keesia,

I don't know anything about rectal insufflation, sorry.

Alyssa,

I wonder why you have pain if you've healed? Maybe you continue to have restricted blow flow to that area?

Sometimes I can't believe I'm talking about these things. Sometimes it feels like it won't ever change, either. I want to be dead wrong.
