Dear Ann,
I'm so sorry about your pain - I hope others who have had LIS can give you some advice. It sounds as though you are doing the right things. Keep taking your pain meds, and hang on in there. This WILL pass. If it's still terrible in the morning, call your doctor. Maybe they can give you something stronger. Be strong, get through this. I know how awful the pain can be, but know it won't last for ever.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

I think that's amazing! You had a poop without noticing? Does that mean it didn't hurt? I really hope that's true! Your husband sounds great.
Too bad about the ibuprofen, but it's good news that the pain is decreasing.
I'm not the best person to ask about diet, but what you are eating sounds OK. I am not sure about the spinach though. I hope you are cooking it. I find oatmeal really good, also red lentils, but maybe they are too bulky for now. Try and get plenty of protein, eg chicken soup.
Keep it up! You are doing great!

Amazing new Ann, you are on step one of the ladder to full recovery....yay !!! I think lightly cooked vegetables / soups grapes / organges plenty of liquids, keep everything moving easily and you will be fine. Keep us posted but if the pain ever gets too much for you ring your surgeon / dr and get a different pain killer that suits you.

Hi Ann........no more scared !! That is wonderful news so glad there is an improvement. I would be v surprised if the pain increases it certainly didn't in my case, 5 days after I had my surgery I walked a mile.....a bit slower than normal but it was still a mile. So glad you are having a pretty good day -brilliant news !! My motto for all of this is Onwards and Upwards........I actually had cancer nearly three years ago and every day during my chemo I would say to my self Onwards and upwards, positive thinking can get you through anything and we are what we think so keep thinking good positive thoughts. You are doing amazing x
