Hi STOT,
I'm so sorry that you're still having the burning. You say your CRS is at a loss what could be causing it? Just thinking that it could be a reaction to the last few months of creams, ops etc.... Maybe you need a bit more time? Could you seek a second opinion? I know you want this sorted out, it's hard enough going through surgery and still to be having problems is a nightmare. Sending you loads of hugs. Xxxxxxxxxxxx

Well, good news and bad news.

The good news is my fissure and incision are completely healed!

Now the bad news: My CRS was able to identify my exact pain spot and I just about jumped off the table. She thinks that it is some type of scar tissue near my original fissure that healed in a funky way and whenever I sit it spreads my butt apart and pulls which causes me the intense burning/stinging pain. This pulling has also caused a small cracked skin area at the tip. Probably more of the reason for the burning/stinging pain. I only have pain when sitting. I have a small bottom and not much padding for any kind of cushion so when I sit my butt cheeks pull apart. I had no pain when she would just touch the area. Only when she would pull my anal opening apart would I have any pain. And it was intense!!!

Unfortunately, it looks like my next option is more surgery. She wants to basically "release" the scar tissue and hopes that this will get rid of the pain as it won't be pulling anymore.

I have a million questions for her now that I've had time to think about it. I can't tell you how incredibly afraid I am of more rectal surgery! Honestly, I don't know what to do at this point. I can't live like this forever.

Thanks for asking!

So sorry you are still struggling but I'm happy that you got an answer! Have you considered getting a second opinion? Might help soften your fears of an additional surgery.

That's scary as hell. What can cause the fissure pain without there being a fissure?

Madpain,

My PT said that it is the tight muscles or nerves that cause the same pain...

So tired of this,

How long did you have the fissure for? Can someone get scar tissue from having a fissure for just 2-3 months?
