Apart from the discharge, how is your pain level? Have you still got a visible fissure? What are you using topically/ orally to help with healing ?
Pinkish mucous could just be normal anal mucous, but since you have had so many surgeries it may just seep out a little??

My heart goes out to you asdf... I know exactly how you feel.... And I hope things can eventually work out for you.

The pain is similar to what you described prior to your surgery... "yangin" ... today is wasn't too bad at all, except when sneezing coughing or stuff like that...yesterday it was worse but not too much worse. Some days, like today, I say to myself, the pain really isn't too bad and I should stop being a baby and just live with it and get a job. And then some days the pain is worse and I say to myself, I need to just have surgery this is ridiculous I can't have this much pain for the rest of my life every time I poop, with the blood and the discharge or whatever it is...

The mucous stuff may be normal, it's usually like clearish or slightly yellowish (sorry!!), and it may very well have been there my whole life and I just got so obsessive with trying to heal after the hemmorhoidectomy that I noticed it when others maybe wouldn't...I don't know. It has improved since the early days. My fissures in the year after the hemmie surgery were "ferocious" to quote my CRS, and the wound discharge was much more significant back then. As the wound is smaller now, the discharge has seemed to improve a little bit, so I am hoping that if it just heals up it will go away completely, or else I'll have to get over it. I'm sorry we're in this boat together. Thanks for hearing my sad story. I hope you get some relief soon.

It is so hard to decide to have another surgery that may or may not work. So very hard.

It really is a constant brain battle isn't it asdf.... Wouldn't it be nice for someone to just make all the right decisions for us, and give our heads a rest!!
Maybe keep a diary over the next few months, noting down when you have good and bad days. You could then look back and see if good out weigh bad. If that's the case.... How ever slow it seems... You must be heading in the right direction.

As for yanging.... I wish that's how mine was feeling at the moment... It just feels like a big bad graze... A whole different form of yanging, although my husband says it doesn't look as red raw since I've been applying the honey.

How is the bleeding? From your description, maybe you have that raw patch that is a hemmie or irritated skin tag or something, but your fissure is healing up on schedule... I hope that is the case.

I got a date today for my revised flap, October 7, feels like years from now. I wish they would just take me in tomorrow. My life is on pause for now. I'll get the details next week. It's a plastic surgeon and my colorectal surgeon but I'm don't think they have decided exactly what type of flap I'll get. I'm 100% sure that I will not heal without this surgery, I'm just not so confident that I will heal with it either...

I don't bleed any more. No significant blood loss since around 2 1/2 weeks post surgery. I have a feeling the sore patch is an external fissure. It doesn't feel the same as the internal one... So maybe the flap has worked on that one.... It's just extended down outside?? I don't know??

So you got a date for your surgery.... Hmmm.... I was secretly hoping you would postpone it for a while.... But you can count on my full support whatever.

Ps.... Oct 7 th is a great day..... My birthday! Lol xxx

Well no blood is a good sign. maybe if it is an external fissure it will be easier to heal up. It seems to me that the ones inside are harder to heal but I can't be sure. Mine is inside.

I really can't wait for surgery. In the US there is no guaranteed sick leave. So even if I got a new job today (it will likely take a month or more to find a position), I would have to wait at least a year before taking off for surgery or my position would be eliminated, and if I do take off, my position can still be eliminated after 12 weeks, as was the case this time. Not to mention it is extremely stressful to have to juggle this secretive medical problem from my employer and I'd rather not do that again. My last job has no idea why I suddenly had surgery and then continued to get medical excusals from work for months while I was undergoing HBOT. As horrifying and stressful as this surgery is on my brain, having it while juggling a new job is 10000x more stressful because I need to worry about when I return to work, and if more surgery is needed, or HBOT, or whatever, then my job will be given away again and it was all for nothing anyway. I'm out of work now anyway, and I am 10000% certain that my butt will not heal without surgery. I bled today quite a bit...it's just like it always was, and I need to at least try to heal. I'll return to my "career aspirations" when my butt is healed or when the doctors tell me there is nothing more they can do. That's really the only way forward for me unfortunately.

Is it just a drop of blood, or more? It's never a nice feeling when you glance at the tp and see blood. I was getting so anxious about it at one stage, I think after my proctogram, I had to use all my will power not to look for a while.

Who will be performing the surgery... The crs or plastic surgeon??
