I feel that it just stalls there... I was able to relieve myself but I was in the bathroom for a very long time since I evacuated in stages... And with straining to take each soft stool out...

Last time I had this issue... My pt massages me vaginally and I was able to relief myself afterwards I was ready to do that technique...

That sucks Alyssa. It should get better with time as some of the effect wears off and other muscles adjust. I remember having a lot of trouble pooping after botox but in time one figures out techniques. I hope things improve for you soon. :hugs:

I hope it resolves itself too.. I just got to remember if I eat anything heavier (pasta, red meat, carbs) I have to drink more water or add some miralax. Anything thicker in diameter is hard to expel.. The good part is that there is less pain with bowel movements because thin fast ones hurt more when they exit.

Alyssa,

I know how hard it is to be working with this condition as well. A few kids to take care of as well would only make things worse.

I ended up negotiating with my employer and went back to work 3 times after each lot of surgery I had.

However I ended up having to go home mid afternoon due to the severe pain on many occasions. Eventually I realised how complex my condition was and I left work to concentrate on getting better thinking I would get this sorted out within a few months.

I didn't realise I would still have pain over a year later. Since I have spent so much $$ of my savings on specialist visits but none of them seem to have a solution for my condition.

I am starting to wonder if maybe all I can do now is pain management and time....hoping things will improve one day. I will see my pain specialist next month and maybe I will consider the sacral nerve stimulation.

Long term chronic pain seems to have an overall impact on your health. I have now been told by my dentist today that I need to get a splint fitted to stop teeth grinding in my sleep which is causing TMJ pain.

If you google TMJ and pelvic pain you will notice that there is a lot of cases where the conditions coexist which is interesting.

Alyssa,

Very interesting video, maybe we should be looking beyond the rectum and pelvic floor for our pain. Perhaps the root cause is coming from somewhere else and its just referring there.

Or because we have had the pain so long, it's actually become a disorder of our nervous system itself.

Alyssa,

My pain specialist has the theory that the pain I have was slowly developing anyway, and it caused me to have all the surgeries in the first place, rather than the surgical procedures being the cause of the pain.

The only surgery I had was a hemoriodectomy over 5 years ago.. I'll see my doctor on Monday to see what she suggests we try next... I hope we both get pain relief of some sort because I don't want to live this :(
