Sounds bloody awful W's..... I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Thank god for your wonderful husband.

I think m is right... Hems do tend to run in families and be part of your genetic makeup. I have some that have returned after getting Botox. They flare up occasionally...... Then settle for a while.

I'm glad your crs went for the most conservative surgery. I hope this does the trick and you can heal properly with fresh new skin.

Huge hugs

Thanks guys. Dealing with the pain today. Didn't think there would be this much. I am wondering now if some is hemorrhoid pain. Just hoping this is the beginning of the end.

Sorry to hear that the pain is worse than you thought it would be. I so know what you mean about that! I have found that the first 3 days are the worst, and this is what my CRS said to expect as this is when the inflammation peaks. Things will get better W. Hang in there. Keep us posted on how you are doing, as you are able.

Yesterday I felt a little bit better. Today better still. The knife like fissure pain is gone replaced by burning pain after BM and general soreness. I think I can differentiate between my fissure sensation and the two hemorrhoids CRS said he identified during EUA. I did not know I had those and still don't know how I got them as my BM's have been so soft for years but I can identify it as hemorrhoid pain. Before I thought it was the second fissure but he said the second fissure has healed! I don't want to get too excited but if this continues it will be good.

I have kept BM's pencil thin with Mirilax. I called the office and she said that was fine. If what ever you are doing is working it is okay because when things get more healed you can decrease the Mirilax gradually and increase BM size very slowly and I will get there so don't worry. I can't wait to go to my 3 week post-op and see if my fissure is healing. CRS told my husband that he did not want to touch the hemorrhoids at the time of EUA because I will be in enough pain but it is something he could take care of in the office. This does concern me as I don't want another hemorrhoidectomy but we will see what he recommends. He told me absolutely no topical treatments. I hope if the fissure heals I can then use a topical steroid to shrink down the hemorrhoids and then......drumroll please..........all healed and ready for life!!!!!

I have very very little bleeding or drainage. At their peak my pain meds completely take me out of pain if I stay very still. When I get up and start doing things it kind of gets things going again so I am making myself do nothing! Sitting hurts after awhile too so I am limiting that. I just feel like this is a real chance for me and I don't want to do anything to mess it up. I plan on keeping stools very thin for a while and keep on this course. Also I am soaking in the tub of course after each BM and in between to. It has really really helped progress my healing I think. No sitz baths, full to the waist tub baths with very very warm water and I make myself stay there until I don't feel any pain. I have some stinging after I get out for a while. I can get the general soreness to simmer down by staying very still. Keep fingers and toes crossed for me!

Also I have been eating mostly salmon and steamed vegetables, some scrambles eggs and a fiber one fiber square everyday and lots and lots of water. I have to be very careful about water intake due to taking the extra Mirilax. But so far so good!
