3rd Surgery not worked

Postby Lloyd31 » 27 Apr 2015, 17:44

Hey!

I'm new here. Resorted to internet out of desperation...

I've suffered with major Fissures for years. First operation in 2002!

I think each operation has made it worse... My consultant even resorted to telling me I likely had HIV as he couldn't fathom why they won't heal!

Back on Steroids now.... So depressing a male guy who has to wear sanitary towels.

I'm so depressed with this..

Yes by 3 different colon rectal surgeons!

My latest one literally hands in his head not know what to try next! I'm only 35 and this is ruining my life!!

I know exactly how you are feeling!

Tramadol worked best for me!! Great pain relief that doesn't cause constipation. Avoid codine like the plague!!

Avoid laxatives and lactose as they will make your sphincter react!! Movicol or fybogel!

Lots and lots of water!!

Did you have any pressure testing before your surgeries (anal manometry) to determine if it is a tight internal sphincter that is the problem?
Dec '13 Fissure from anoscope
3 X internal sphincter botox
'08-'15 Botox for pelvic floor dysfunction
Nov '14 LIS/sentinel tag removal
Feb '15 Deroofing of recurrent infection from LIS
summer '15-healed but still ongoing muscle dysfunction/pain

No he could tell by exam that I had high anal muscle tone and that high resting pressure caused the fissure

Sorry I'm confused. I'm the one that's had 3 surgery.

I've had Botox to relax the sphincter all 3 times after surgery. Not ever had a test though?
