Well chuff me....apparently I'm healing....faint cry die of shock, :D
Went to see my surgeon today and I'm at least 40% healed which he says is great after 4 weeks considering my other issues. He wants to see me again in 6 weeks when he says if I'm careful I should be completely healed (easy for him as I have no idea what sets my bowel off sometimes)
To be honest I have noticed a difference these past 4 days when I have just had the single BM pain gas only been a 3 did go up to a 4 today but it was a rather large BM and I was sat for 2 hours on very hard hospital chairs but it's back down to a 3 now so I can happily live with that.
I did ask what to do if my bowel played up and he said up your meds...well that makes me constipated sometimes, his answer...try and find what works. But he did seem to think that as long as my bowel doesn't go into melt down I should still be able to heal
I told him about the level 10 pain and he said 'well what did you expect that's why you got turned down for LIS twice' I'm pretty certain he said it would be painful not shoot yourself agonising pain.
So the plan is to try and have one normal BM a day....god knows how but so far the colon is cooperating so let's see what happens

Thanx Katie,
He was really pleased he said he only expected about 20/30% as it's the worst fissure he's ever seen???to quote him it was 'awfully horrendous'
I'm very pleased and knew before I had it done it was going to be a long road....I just really didn't expect that much pain and spasming.
So working on placating my colon now lol

MPB Thats great news at 4 weeks I started noticing some relief. At 6 weeks last friday my CRS told me with the exception of some scar tissue from banding everything else was healed. Bm last 5 days pretty soft and pain maybe a 1.Hang in there sounds like your healing at same time rate as me.

Thanx Jim, I really do think the doctors need to be more honest then we wouldn't worry quite so much...yes the horrific pain would still be there but we wouldn't think that meant we weren't healing at all and so we would be more positive.
Glad to hear your doing so well. I actually wouldn't mind the pain being a 3 for the rest of my life but if I could get to a 1 that would be blooming amazing.

So no BM this morning but I didn't eat much yesterday as was in hospital for ages...so no pain today just a uncomfortable feeling.
I decided that as I have had a few good days and no BM that I would try and have sex...which quite frankly before the LIS was painful at the most and uncomfortable at the least. Well it wasn't painful but the incision site for the LIS did throb a bit for ten mins after so I'm assuming it's still sore inside. So sex is less painful and here is the important bit my sphincter didn't go I to any form of spasm so that was great. Sorry if it's too much info but I am married and my husband has been quite frustrated by my fear of any kind of contact down there so this is a step forward for me and him. Still a bit concerned about the pain from the op but I guess this will go.
Not feeling very hungry today think it's because I have eaten more in the past 4 days than I have in the last 4 weeks but am going to make sure I have something as I really want to keep my BMs regular.

Thanx IT, my hubby is happy too lol ;)
Knew it was going to be a long road I just wasn't prepared for the level of the pain. At least I know I'm starting to heal which really does help.

MPB. Good to hear you are progressing and you were able to relieve your husbands frustration. Hopefully the pain level will get better for you. I still have some pain from scar tissue which I have no clue how long that will go on. Bm movements are no longer painful during only after as the scar tissue gets irritated . I am taking tylenol 500 otc and helps alot so at least I dont need anything stronger . I just wish the scar tissue would quit hurting
But I guess in due time.

Hi Jim,
Yes my husband was much relieved lol....I'm hoping the pain continues to decrease but haven't had a bad IBS day for a week now, hoping I don't have one for a while lol. Could you try something like bio oil for the scar tissue I don't know if you can put it up there but surely there must be something other than coconut oil we can use. I'm not needing any painkillers as I haven't had pain above a 5 in over a week now, I'm trying my best not to take any as it could be those that my colon didn't like lol.
