Some questions before surgery may help you relax a bit more? I'm gutted this morning I've had another re-rear was only a week ago since my last and it was healing well, period time coming and I always have to strain even with all I take, So fed up x

Oh no Hun that's not great, I also get more tightness and heaviness at the time of the month....doesn't help with the healing.
On the plus side you were healing well so you should do again, it's not an ideal situation but it does show that your body can heal given time and the right circumstances. Just a thought but have you though about asking for the contraceptive pill to try and stop your periods for a few months.

I know im grateful that I have the Botox it helps with the pain when I tear and heals quicker but now panicking that it's not going to heal by the time my Botox ends if I keep having a re-tear! I did try the pill but I always get bad side effects with them so thought might make things worse x

Yes I'm seeing my surgeon on the 10th Jan it's a lady ate is very nice how comes you reteared? Did you have a large or hard toliet? Xx

My CRS says he let's people have 3 lots of Botox if it helps them and they would prefer it to LIS. I guess if Botox is helping then LIS will too, is there a different pill you could try just while your healing. It's so annoying when something that could help us gives us side effects, so not fair.

I'm seeing my consultant on the 10th of Jan too! No never have a problem with hard stools always due to straining, always around period time my stools stay soft just don't come out very well! I'm still thinking maybe for long term LIS would be better but ok petrified of the recovery and that it doesn't work x

LIS seems to work really well especially for people that don't have ongoing issues with BMs you are probably an ideal candidate as you dont have hard stools or chronic diarrhoea. So nothing to really give you any problems with recovery. Have you had a resting pressure test.
If your on the NHS they normally like to do 2 lots of Botox then LIS, but you have a right to ask for LIS before, your CRS might have some ideas about what you can do at that time of the month perhaps

My main issue is straining it drives me mad I think with my ibs my body has just got so used to straining over the years, he did say that the LIS would be something to look at but he would do the pressure testing first, what's that like? Do you have it clinic or day surgery?

I had that pressure test done a tube goes up your bottom I had that done before the first lots of bottox I had x

Does it hurt? Did you have to have sedation or anything?
