To be honest I think it can take a while but the first dose worked within 2 days for me so I'm hoping this new dosage does.
I have just had a sausage sandwich...which I'm normally good with so fingers crossed the colon plays nice as I'm still quite sore from last night. Pain still a 3/4.

Ok no BM yesterday but was sore all day not really pain in the afternoon but def sore.
So off to work today and don't know whether I want a BM or not lol, I'm now worried about constipation after my experience a few weeks back but hopefully that won't happen as I only took one loperamide and no painkillers so fingers crossed that won't happen. Equally worried about eating in case the new dosage hasn't kicked In and I get diarrhoea....only I could be worried about two totally different things at the same time lol. Well fingers crossed I have a nice BM at home and hope you all have a pain free day

Well no BM yesterday so no pain and had a good day. Had lots of tummy cramps last night and have had a Bristol 3 BM already, still getting cramps so really hoping that I don't have to go again don't fancy starving over Xmas but will see what happens, just going to have a scone today maybe a bit of curry later as neither of those ever set me off.
Oh well fingers crossed and hope you all have a good day

Surprisingly enough after the Bristol 3 BM and applying my GTN there was actually no pain....but unfortunately the cramps did turn into multiple visits to the toilet but and I'm hoping this is significant the pain didn't go above a 6 even without pain killers so although not happy with the amount of trips I wasn't in agony. Well I'm taking some loperamide today so here's hoping I don't have to go to the toilet on Xmas eve lol x

Okk well my Xmas day started at 12:30 with two explosive trips to the toilet I'm beginning to think my colon doesn't like the amitryptiline as it always seems to happen that I get bad cramps an hour after I have taken it then an hour later the awful eruptions. So im going to try just one tonight see what happens....on the plus side though the pain again didn't go above a 6 so no spasms which meant I did manage to sleep thankfully
Well a very merry Xmas to you all and hope it's a pain free day for everyone

MPB Sorry to hear that but your making progress. As for me well something interesting is now happening. Now my stomach has a dull ache but no diarrhea no vomiting no fever. Passing alot of gas stools are Bristol 4 with no pain passing. I think I am goingto see a gastroenterologist after the New year. Wonder now whats up with the tummy

Hi Jim, yes thankfully some progress I'm glad there was no spasms it's just so annoying when you see what life could be like one nice BM a day and then bang your colon drags you back to reality. Oh dear could you maybe have a bug perhaps. Yes you are probably better going to see a DR as that doesn't sound good.
Hi Katie, oh gosh Hun really hope it's not getting worse, I wouldn't know if they can get bigger but I'm assuming that the op will sort it out whatever the size. Yes it will be interesting to see it on the MRI x

Well after 3 days in the trot of 3 BMs yesterday was better as I only went once no spasms thankfully but the burning lasted hours. Went to the gym this morning and managed about an hour but then needed to come home as I could tell I needed the toilet. Had a BM Bristol 3/4 decided not to put on my GTN again as I'm at home all day, it's been 2 hours and it's still just burning not actual pain.
I can tell I'm improving and am so happy I just would have loved to have been one of those that had LIS and then 2 weeks later was pain free and able to eat. I'm still being super careful with food and taking meds but trying to get reliable BMs is like winning the blooming lottery.
Still let's be honest I'm so so happy to be able to leave the house and still be able to eat at least a bit, just wish this had never happened.
