Hope you two don't mind me weighing in on your conversation, GG and mamafizz. You are both amazing and so strong.
I saw my surgeon again the other day for a post-op consultation and she gave me some useful and interesting advice: she said that all the nerves in the pelvic floor are interconnected, so if you have a problem in one area then everything else down there is going to go haywire as well. This is why people can have trouble urinating if they have an anal fissure or have had their haemorrhoids banded or operated on, and why there can be strange pains and symptoms in other areas in the pelvic floor.
The pelvic floor physio explained to me that if you have ongoing pain from any kind of injury or illness, then the brain practices feeling pain. Sometimes it can get stuck creating 'I'm in pain' messages even after you have healed.
I'm still having a lot of swelling post banding...my surgeon will review things again in a few weeks and see whether she needs to put another band on to finally kill this horrible thing off.
