Thanks Becka456, been tough so far but I think as soon as swelling goes down I'll feel better. How are you doing? I know this has been a very very tough time for you hon
oh really how come hun? did you just have the muscle cut or anything else done? im ok I have my dad's funeral on Monday and my op has been moved till the 27th, wish it was earlier but only date left x
Just the muscle cut but I have lots of swelling and more pain than expected - although I'm taking a very low dose of painkiller. I think it's a bit of an atypical situation, so don't be put off the LIS.
I will be thinking of you this coming week, it must be a very tough time. Here if you ever need a chat. The 27th will be here before you know it hon!
oh bless you I really hope it settles down for you, what pain relief are you on? have you had the dreaded first bowel movement yet that's the one thing im worried about! Thanks hun appreciate it, cant believe I wont have my dad to talk to after my op this time he used to always cheer me up (
Oh I'm sorry hon, my dad has always been there for me and I can't imagine how tough it would be to be in your shoes. Praying for you.
I'm on 5mg of morphine every 4 hours. But they had to give me much much more than that post op. Since I already had the morphine at home the surgeon didn't write a new prescription or say how much I should be taking, and normally 15-30mg every 4 hours is prescribed for healthy adults...a bit confusing but will sort it out tomorrow with a call to the surgeon.
Oh and I haven't had the first bm - I can't even pass gas now I'm too sore and swollen. Hoping the bm won't come until the swelling is down because it will definitely be difficult.
that's good they have given you morphine I don't get given anything just told to take nurofen and paracetemol think im worried about the pain after which just that! I take it you have stitches in?
I have stitches. Honestly I wouldn't worry. I think either my surgeon didn't do a great job or I have a thrombosed hem or something. As I said, my case is clearly not the usual.
