Hi raoden,
Great that you are heading in right direction.. My thinking is, 3 litres is common for everyone. But we take more fiber than common people, so we need more than 3 litres of water.
I am also a vegetarian by birth. We need to be careful about fibre balance. I was having soft stool without hard tip from 5 weeks and healed 70-80% (I guess). Constipated lil bit and back to square one (though it took lil less time to feel better this time.
Now from 1 n 1/2 week, I am having again well formed stool without hard tip. I will share my regimen if it helps in any way.
Morning waking up, having a glass of water, BM followed by sitz bath, shower then applying ointment (Nifedipine+Lifocaine+bit of hydrocortisone). 2 slices of whole wheat bread (5gm fiber in each slice) with tea. Taking lactulose 20 ml
Inbetween eating one carrot, handfull of
snow peas (sweet peas), apple, any another fruit, water (4-5 liters as I nurse my lil one). Lactulose before sleep (20ml).
Also trying to eat cooked veggies with the lunch and dinner. Cooked veggies are easy for digesting.
Sitz bath in the afternoon. Applying Ointment. Another BM in the evening follwed by sitz bath and applying ointment.
Sitz bath before sleep and applying ointment. I do sitz bath 4 times and apply ointment everytime after sitzbath as muscles will be lil relaxed after sitzbath and helps to put ointment lil further. Also a glass full of warm milk with a spoon of ghee (Indian) anytime in a day (preferably in the night).
Walk of 30-45 mins. Engaging yourself with friends and family. If you can't go out much, invite your friends over and play indoor games. I have my big fat family with me which is helping me to divert my mind.
These things helped me so far. Fingers crossed until my next appointment with GS on May 03.
