Thank you :) I will try suppositories and will see. If it irritates, then will switch to qtip. I also read your postings!! How are you feeling now? Better?

Thanks for your concern :) I am better but up and down in pain levels some days. Hoping to heal but it's hard not to feel hopeless sometimes. I was feeling a lot better then had a CRS visit and I feel she irritated the fissure. Still trying to get it back to where it was.

Thank you so much :) She actually only poked at it from the outside to check if the muscle was in spasm, but it was enough to irritate it.

I used rectal rocket yesterday. It felt like I have to put little pressure to insert it. I felt a twitch. Then it was fine. I was scared whether it may hurt today morning for BM. But gladly it didn't but there was slight discomfort than yesterday. I think I will not use them.

I will ask my surgeon If I could use qtip. She is very particular about using any foreign body or any other stuff there... she even told me not to use wipes or anything... She told me to use clensing bottle which is of great help to me.

Wow what's a rectal rocket? That sounds scary!

If you don't want to use a qtip, you can just apply it little by little using a glove covered finger. I found that the q tip method didn't work for me and caused pain from the roughness of it.

Re: Internal Anal Fissure

Today I had my surgeon appointment. She said that she don't see any fissure outside. I said I feel discomfort during BM which follows for couple of hours, but no pain. And I can sit only on cushion chairs or donut pillows for 1/2 hr to 1 hr, then it starts stinging. Can't sit on hard surface yet.

She said that my fissure may be still there internally, asked me to put ointment little inside with a pinky finger, with gloves on and lil lubricant and then ointment before inserting about a inch deep.

Said, good job :D and asked me to continue doing what I am doing now. And to continue apply Nifedipine as well. I also got few pimples around anus as a result of sitz bath but no fungal infection.

She set me for Flexible Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible sigmoidoscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to examine the rectum and the lower (sigmoid) colon. The flexible sigmoidoscope is a flexible tube 60 cm long and about the thickness of your little finger. It is inserted gently into the anus and advanced slowly into the rectum and the lower colon.) on July 10th. Said that If I get constipated or any setbacks, then she has to postpone it. This is to make sure that I don't have any problems down there.

Hopefully I will heal by that time completely. Fingers crossed.
