Nikki, I believe the specialist I had a phone conference with explained it best. Most tension is held in the pelvis. Emotions is what triggers onset. It is a true physical thing however our bodies are designed to heal. The natural path is really best, but this takes the longest. He explained that after suffering from any type of injury or procedure in that area- it takes the mind and body a long while to relax enough to heal. In his experience,it takes 2-6 months at least for the muscles to relax fully. If there are ongoing inflamed internal blood vessels this too takes at least 6 months as well to shrink. The pulled muscles remain tight higher in the rectum toward the tailbone and can take even longer if stressed. So the catch 22 is that this condition causes stress and the stress makes the condition linger. But it will fizzle out, so when you know this and stop worrying about it and feel confident it will go away it will. I am getting there, less painful more discomfort although REALLY REALLY uncomfortable and muscle achy but with time it goes away. We just have to vent and hang in there and not repress. Not a bit easy after what this puts you through but the outcome will be much better in the end.. Haha no pun intended. This specialist is available for a phone consultation he can also explain the Diosmin you may feel better just speaking to him about this condition. I felt so much better after just talking with him. Also he has a more holistic approach to most of this. I will share his contact info if you like. The essential oils are also good...

It would be good to have his email if possible? I'm in the UK so a phone call could be difficult..
What part of the U.S do you live in?
I lived in Los Angles for nearly 7 years and travelled about quite a bit too. My eldest son (who's 18) has family in several states of America!
We've visited back and forth many times over the years since I came back to England also.. x

[email protected], I am on the East Coast, but he is in California. He is well known and appears on National Television Shows as a specialist. Reference the Rhoid Aid and possibly he would be willing to email you some info on it and provide some additional details. It is helpful. Feeling any better? I forget is your fissure fully healed?

Thanks.
No my fissure is not completely healed, it is healing but not quite there. Some days are good and I hardly feel it, "yay" (I actually drove for an hour last weekend and it felt fine but the next day was painful again), then other days it's so painful.... This is what confuses me, how can it feel so different from day to day?...
The other thing I'm unsure of is whether the fissure is only on the outside of the skin around my anus, or does it go up into the muscle internally and is that why is hurts so much when i sit down..... I guess I need to ask my GP to have another look and see if she can tell....

Nikki, Yes mine was the same way, so many variables. To be honest it's probably a combo, the internal blood vessels even if not determined to be full blown internal hems they can be chronically inflamed in small clusters and they are made up of pads of tissue & muscle and vessels and nerves etc.. so it's not always just the fissure.

That is why it's different types of pain/discomfort-- the Doctor provides this supplement to decrease the internal inflammation so the muscles are not pulled on. All of these can tug on the muscles. That is why it seems like a pelvic floor dysfunction when it's really just the muscles reacting. There will be times depending on how you go that affects all of those veins. Mine was inside a bit to the right. Sometimes they extend to outside. If there are intense spasms it continues to pull on it and delays it healing back together. It will tho.! At first after Botox I thought the Doctor could not see it but I still had so much pain. Turns out it was the residual inflammation and the blood vessels. They are all attached to the muscles, since they wrap around the rectum. Mine now just seems to be overactive nerves and muscles that are slowly simmering down. It is monthly improvement. It goes from pain to more of a discomfort. I am aware of the muscles still all of the time. But it continues to get better, monthly... UGH!! lol VERY SLOW.... BUT improving... for sure..

.Do you have any sore dull achy muscles higher up- worse when sitting? Sort of like a horse shoe of muscle or is it more of the golf ball/or feeling like something is there and you seem to always have to be aware of it? That can determine if it's coming more from the muscles due to the blood vessels or if it is the fissure and the Internal S. The other muscles wrap around and sometimes over compensate and have a hyper sensitive reaction after so long.

I get the sore dull achey muscle feeling a bit higher up from bottom, and definitely the worst when sitting, as if it's tearing! Not so much the golf ball feeling, but it does feel like there's "something always there" (I think this could be the scar tissue and swelling in the area) and the surrounding skin pretty much always feels sore..... I also get a prickly sort of feeling when I'm sitting, hard to explain, anyone know what i mean? And random shooting pains which feel like nerves....
I've think I've actually forgotten what it feels like to have a normal bum!
I've gone from having painful external haemorrhoids, had 2 surgeries to remove them then left with this fissure, I don't know which is worse!!!
I can feel a very small hard/solid "bobble" or "ball" when I press in the area of my fissure, I'm wondering if this is scar tissue from the surgeries, and/or from the fissure itself(?)
I've just ordered something called Pranicure, have you tried it/heard of it? Has really good reviews for helping with fissures and at this point I'm willing to try almost anything......
I feel like I'm going mad sometimes, :~!@: constantly putting some ointment, oil or cream on my bum, prodding and feeling to see what's going on.. Anyone else feel like this??........ x

Okay will do.... It's quite expensive but I don't care.. If it works it'll be worth it!
Yep I tried the wheatgrass cream (amongst many other things on my quest to rid myself of this torture!) but doesn't really seem to do much......

Nikki here is the link....Any better??

Regarding your link to the supplement you told me about. It says they don't ship to UK... I've checked and there's nobody selling it on Amazon UK, but I have found somewhere else in the Uk that sells it. Quite expensive at nearly £60 but you think it's helped you right? My one concern is if it's something you have to take continuously even when symptoms are better? If so it could be very costly!
I'm going to do some research into supplements for blood vessel and vein support as this seems to be what your supplement is aiming to strengthen.....

Nikki, Absolutely works. . The doctor has taken it since 2012 you do not have to continue ongoing. I am not going to keep taking once I am back to normal, unless there is a flairup I know at least there is something that I can go to that actually helps. You may be able to get directly from the doctor office. Email Tanya, not sure but worth a try. His formula works specifically for our issues. I had what you speak of when the fissure was still not fully healed. And now it is just the discomfort of the muscles, the dull ache is working it's way out. Sometimes burny from the muscle as well. Sounds pretty much the same.
