Just Botox after all

Postby missy moo » 06 Feb 2018, 18:00

Hi everyone I've decided to write my botox journey here it was ment to be both a fissurectomy an Botox but since it only ended up being Botox I changed the heading. My fissure is in the anterior location I've tried everything non invasive but this fissure still heals well for 4 weeks then comes back an takes about 10 days to heal again this has been the pattern for 4.5 years an I'm over it, I don't get spasms just feels like passing razer blades then hurts anywhere for 5mins after to half the day after bms

Hi missy,
My awful agonising spasms stopped straight after Botox they did not stop after LIS, yes there was swelling but as you know I have a lot of hems which doesn’t help. The fissure will not be bigger just have straight edges so it’s easier to heal.
I was petrified of sedation...like I was actually crying and tried to leave but the nurses understand and will help you.
You have been suffering a long time and I’m sure this will help you immensely
Super good luck and I look forward to reading your progress x

Hi mypoorbutt thanks for your reply do you think there's a chance I'll get spasms afterwards which I don't get right now? Thanks in advance also I've already had two crys and it's not even d day yet I got prescribed some diazapam because my normal anxiety is at an all time high but I know diazapam help with muscle cramps an spasms so that should help after surgery.

Hi missy I very much doubt that you will get spasms after LIS if you aren’t getting them before. I was getting really bad long lasting spasms before my op and the spasms didn’t start after the op until my crohns flare. People like IT who were having mild spasms before the op never got any after and were pretty much pain free. Yes diazepam is primarily a muscle relaxant so by all means continue for a few days.
I know how very scary it is to be put to sleep, there are lots of things I could say to try and reassure you but I know nothing anyone said made a difference to how petrified I was of anaesthetic so all I can say is just think by tomorrow night this will all be over and you will be on the road to recovery

That's how I cope with scary things too. I remind myself that by this time tomorrow it will be behind me, by this time next week I will be pain-free, by this time next month I'll wonder why I was so worried, etc., etc., etc.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and can't wait to hear how well it all went, afterward.

Still in the hospital an they only gave me Botox so I'm annoyed about that he said it looks good not looking like chronic scar tissue so he said no need to make a new wound ? Does this sound right? He said the scar is soft an you wouldn't think it's been there for so long he said it looks good like a new scar?

He also said it's a long fissure but not to deep. The last time I had pain medicine was Panadol at the hospital 8.5 hours ago and I feel completely normal I actually feel like I've had nothing done is that a common way to feel the day of Botox?
