It appears that only your muscles are the problem. The doc may be right. Hopefully botox will break the cycle and the fissure will heal for good.

Last thing I'm home now have been for a few hours bit of discomfort here and there when should I remove the gauze on my papers it just says when necessary? So before a bm what if that's not for a day or two? Thanks guys

I think your doc is conservative, that's why he is trying botox before LIS. But yes, I think if botox doesn't work you will need LIS. There are people here who healed completely after botox. Stay positive. I 'll let someone who's had the procedure speak about the gauze, but you can call the nurses tomorrow and ask if you are not sure.

Thank you I'm scared of the dreaded post bm they had a good look while I was asleep with a scope thingy an they surgeon said because of this there my be some pain I'm not in pain at the moment but will see how I feel tomorrow. Is there a part of dressing that will come out with the bm? No one said anything about it

Glad it’s all over, I didn’t have any gauze but I’m in the UK and they are always very lackadaisical. I can’t imagine there would be any gauze further up as you haven’t had LIS.
I would say leave it in place either until you need a BM or until tomorrow when you can start having baths.
If they have had a poke around up there then it may be a bit painful in the next few days don’t forget to keep on top of your pain meds and lots of baths. Also lots of people have had Botox and are well enough to go shopping the same day and work the next, it all depends on our fissure and how our body reacts...,also how gentle the surgeon was

Day1 after Botox
Hi guys so I have good news and bad news the good news is my body seems to have bounced right back from the knock out stuff no sleepy system or bowel I just had my first bm it was nice an soft no pressure an hurt the same as the days before botox but then I noticed an odd stinging in the posterior area so I cleaned up an had a look what the f### another fissure!!! I still only have pain during bm an till I clean off this has been the case for a few months so no change I still feel like I did before Botox in everyway which is good because I was scared of being worse off afterwards. The surgeon said he had a good look with a scoop so I guess that caused the new fissure when will the Botox kick in? Will it take care of BOTH my fissures?
