Ok yea I agree my cheeks feel full an heavy numb after dental work too. So you take no softeners or anything else? Did you ever get Botox before lis?

I never took softeners, because like MPB, had diarrhea all the time, not constipation. I take (and took) the psyllium for that reason, not to soften my stool. I did take Restorlax/Miralax though, after my recent hemorrhoidectomy, because I was taking opioid painkillers and had to compensate for that.

No, my surgeon does not think that Botox is an effective treatment, so we went to LIS after trying all of the creams first.

My surgeon spoke from experience. He said that he'd tried it on patients, but all eventually had to have LIS, so stopped doing it. He did say that if I REALLY wanted it, he would perform the procedure, but I would have to pay for the Botox myself (because he really didn't believe that it would help and didn't want to burden the taxpayers with something frivolous).

Thanks, I am. And good luck with the rest of your healing.

Im really hoping this Botox works for me I read on here that within two shots of Botox there's a 66% success rate here in NZ they give you Botox as many times as you want/need an it's free maybe we're wasting money. But you have to pay to have you tone tested so they must just cut the muscle without knowing if it's already weak I would want to check my tone before lis because I've had 2 kids an not sure if I want a 3rd.

Day 15 update
Bm today was more a 3 then a 4 an finished off even more soft same pain during but finished off with a bit of burn because of the last bit being so soft I guess. But after cleaning off there's no pain I'm thinking about using the diltiazem 3x a day again because my muscle is still tight mainly after a bm but I'm hoping these bms will be a natural Botox or lis over time is that how it works? Anyway I put some diltiazem on after my bm hoping things ease before my period which is due in two weeks. Should I use the diltiazem? And are bigger bms good for the muscle over time natural stretching? Do we get Botox an lis because the muscle becomes so narrow an tight use to soft bms that anytime we pass something more of a normal size the fissure spilts? I'm starting to think that's what's happening with me my bms are soft everyday but then sometime leading up to my period or days of my period my body clears out an some of the bms are normal an some are a bit harder an the fissure retears.

Just need someone outside looking in to give me some direction does it sound like more formed bms could be my answer? Since the surgeon said my fissure/scar tissue is soft an should be able to heal which it does but retears with any bm except soft which does next to no stretching. Input please and thank you to anyone talking to me through my journey.

I think it will definitely help to continue to use the ointment. I used nifedipine for three months while my botox was most active. I had read on this forum that combining the two could improve healing chances. I would first try to heal the fissure with whatever BM consistency causes least pain, and then focus on stretching the muscle out. That could be done through manual dilation, not necessarily by making BMs more formed. Hope some of this made sense!
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

Yea it does thanks I'm just thinking I've had 1 pain free bm since botox an it was super soft apart from that all the softs have hurt like the now formed only thing is is that the softs never got me anywhere in the long run so I'm thinking maybe formed is worth a try sorry if I dont appear to be taking your advice it's just one of those things where you think your on to something man these fissures really make you look into alot of different parts of our lives even the poopy ones. How are you going?
