So I have over the last 2 days taken 1 macrogol salution a day an it's made my stools so easy soft smooth an fast no hard tip no pain I do want to find something healthy an fine for long term use so I will be getting some magnesium but till then 1 lax a day will get me through I just hope it's safe I've been taking it for like a year and a half now im worried my body cant manage without it but in saying that the hard tips are what lead me to the lax sachets in the first place I think I need something forever just not sure what yet. Hopeful how are your?

Hi missy, that's why fissures are so complicated because no matter what you do it is hard to heal. No pain when soft stools, but muscles are not worked appropriately, on the other hand if normal the wound gets irritated. I hope the magnesium will work for you, but seriously think about LIS when the time is right and then forget about the whole thing, eat what you want and live your life normally. I am doing great, no longer my heart is pending when I go to the bathroom. Slowly my sanity is coming back. The emotional trauma actually takes longer to get over.

Yes I'm just starting to realise that, so a soft bm doesn't stress the fissure but makes the muscle tight an not use to stretching an a formed bm stresses the fissure but is good for the muscle so how do you keep both happy? How does lis fix both an make the fissure not stress over formed bms? I can see how the lis fixes the muscle and makes it more stretchable but how does lis make the fissure more stretchable?

I think the fissurectomy really promoted the fissure healing itself, there was no fissure pain from day 1, but by cutting the sphincter and releasing all that tightness flooded the area with blood flow and that promoted really fast healing of the fissure. This is how I think it worked.

So you had a fissurectomy aswel? Is that standard? An did you also have a skin tag removed?

My doc decided to do fissurectomy as well. I didn't know how beneficial it was until I read about it later. I think it's up to the doctors, but a good one will do it in combo with the LIS. It takes just a minute or two, no big deal. I didn't want my tag removed because it is small and I didn't want to deal with another wound. Now it is not bothering me at all, even it has shrunk I think and it is very soft and dark skin colored like it's drying out or something.

Was your fissure in the front? An did your skin tag use to get irritated when your fissure got bad?

Anterior, and the tag was red and plump when the fissure was active.

Just like mine, did they test your anal tone before deciding to do lis? I don't think they would check mine because it hasn't been mentioned at all ever.
