Sounds like a very productive visit. I wouldn't be overly worried about the injections either, because other than the risk of temporary incontinence, the risk of infection really is incredibly low in the western world.

I hope that you hear back soon, so that you can start your treatment plan, and don't forget (again) to ask my question, lol.

Thanks Sue. It would be a relief to have less or zero butt pain. One problem in the area is hard enough to deal with (hidradenitis), without adding another.

so many moving parts.

You and I have some similarities re: pelvic floor. I have not had any of those tests.

Patience: you are an unselfish and giving person, you have tried to help me in so many ways I cannot thank you enough. You deserve relief.

I would message you privately but new messages do not show on my iPhone...no idea why (I’m an I.T. guru but I can’t fix it from my side, some coding issue here) and I don’t have anything else to use at the moment.

You are too kind. :) I've found that new messages don't show up for me either and I have to view the site in desktop mode to be able to see them. Kind of annoying but not a big deal.

Off topic, but I wanted to note this down as a record- I recently began taking Lexapro, my first time ever taking an antidepressant. The tottering tower of problems has become too much for me to handle just through therapy and other means. It may help with pelvic floor tension by reducing anxiety, if I can tolerate the side effects.

I also found this long but interesting video by a Stanford doctor on pelvic pain. I haven't had the patience (heh) to watch it all but she gives some very useful and otherwise hard to find information: https://youtu.be/xnJc-3M9NRQ. She mentions proctalgia at 25:06.

The main symptom is having to splint while having a BM, otherwise things get stuck and I have to strain. It's not at a state where it requires intervention, but it's important to prevent constipation so it doesn't worsen.
