Gosh i just this morning experienced the mpst pain an bleeding I've had in ages I'm so so so over it!!! I don't think we should take stool softeners because they don't heal anal fissures I've been taking stool softeners everyday for 8 years an i still have a fissure so go figure they don't help I'm actually worried that long term they may hurt us over time having skinny soft bms makes our muscle not use to stretching and makes it close off tighten up because of not being stretched daily like its ment too. Then when we have a normal bm randomly one day it will retear the fissure this is exactly what I've been experiencing for the last 8 years. Soft soft soft fine fine fine then randomly either a bit of a hard or even soft but larger bm which requires a little stretch and boom blood an pain all over again this happens every few weeks for me. So my thoughts are that our muscle has to be use to an able to have normal an occasionally a little constipation. Qe can't create perfect soft skinny bms everyday for the rest of our lives because of so many different things that can change the bm for a day. Stress, travel, exercise, diet change (1 meal) hot day, job change, job loss all these things can change our bms for 1 day and it only takes 1 bm to set us back to square 1.
Anyway i haven't taken a stool softener in about 8 wks I'm trying to eat super healthy and let my body be natural with slightly different bms everyday because thats life. I still obviously have a fissure and its a tough road to walk for sure. I'll be asking the surgeon if we should live on softeners or not and if after lis our muscle can handle normal bms again i just want to reset my muscle it use to be normal pre fissure it could stretch i could have a random harder bm here an there without a problem now i can't handle anything other then soft serve ice-cream texture and that isn't achievable everyday for ever for other human being.
