I acutally wish that I had had a litle leakage (read more loosage) at the beginning. Then, I probably wouldn't still need the nifedipine. In fact, I am almost out of the store I collected before the surgery. I don't know what I would have done wo/ the extra supply. So I'd say, it's not to worry about. The sphincter inevitably tightens again after the shock wears off.

Glad things are getting a bit better for you, i'm sure little by little, day by day you'll notice improvements.
I didn't have the leakage, but i do remember reading that it was common, and transient, so i'm sure that it wont be permanent. In time, once everything has settled down and you feel more back to your normal self, you'll probably be glad of being looser, as it tightens up with time.
Hope you have a good day tomorrow!

Dearest P Image nky
I have read all your posts in your thread. Sorry I haven't been here to support, I have been away. I see that your other buttfriend have been there for you though Image
You really are going through a lot Pinky with all your pain, discharge, a lot of BMs and the trouble they cause, etc., but you have to be nice to yourself now. You breastfeed your son and you take a lot of medicines...breastfeeding has a huge impact on our hormones and how we feel (at least it did for me...).
The fact that your son is so little and you feel that you cannot be there for him as you want to...I understand it must be hard, but Pinky - you have to remember that this isn't your fault - you haven't done anything wrong, you are put in a situation where you just have to survive! Don't be hard on yourself, you do as good as you can do.
I feel that when we are in bad pain and everything is black - we just have to exist, it will/must subside and go away....eventually.

I think maybe your expectations are too high, sweetheart. This is surgery and it will take time to recover. Plus your fissure has to heal too and that can take additional time. I understand about being fed up and how hard this is on you though. But I think it helps to accept that you will be in pain and do what you can to manage it so you can heal. I think the risks are higher overall for you to be in such pain that is not treated because you are breastfeeding than a little exposure your son might get.
You sound very depressed. I hope that you will realize that it is temporary. I know it is hard because you can't get these days back with your son but if you can make yourself more comfortable so you feel more like yourself that will help.

if there's anything all of us have learned pinky, it's patience. i am SOOOOO fed up with these problems i can't even describe it, but we just have to be patient even when it feels like nothing will ever change. especially right after surgery. i had my surgery 2 weeks ago and i'm getting antsy and frustrated and ready to get on with my life. i just have to keep reminding myself it takes (LOTS OF) time and we just need to be patient for awhile longer.
if you really think there's an infection, go see our dr of course! do you have a follow up appt soon? i hope you don't have an infection and that a little extra patience is all it will take. remember the actual fissure can still take quite a few weeks to heal after LIS. the surgery just makes it possible for healing to occur.

Pinky, if there's yellow discharge, perhaps it might be a good idea to phone your doctor and get an appointment for tomorrow. I was on metronidazole for at least a month when i had my fistula - I didnt feel the infection cleared up with one dose. I think abcesses tend to drain and then we feel better then they fill up again and are painful, maybe thats whats happening and why they didnt find any infection last week? Image thats just a thought, though, so please dont panic! Just get it checked for peace of mind.
It must be very lonely for you with no family nearby Image
