Hey my sweet buddy Image - same - sorry to say Image . There was a big step forward from first week till the next regarding overall level of pain and swelling - but after that period I do not see any big breakthrough happening.
It is OK during night, than I have BM and no matter how soft it is - pain and some burn/itch lingers for the rest of the day. Soaks help, as does Lidocain (local anesthetic) and I take Dervocet when I get too antsy Image and just can't take it any more. I think that I have 2 fissures now - one at 12 that he did fissurectomy on - and one on 6 that re occurred after he cut that skin tag off . So I have burning on my 12 o'clock and pinching on my 6 o'clock and than some spasming starts since BM wakes nerves up due to pain and voila - perfect circle of doom so typical for a fissure.
Now, I have to wait 8 weeks total to see if I will heal or not - since that is a period when it should happen if it happens , so I try not to be in a state of complete panic regardless of all the circumstances. I think that 12 will heal , but 6 is another matter :( . If all fails - I will go to Mayo when kids have winter break end of January Image .
I read on another thread that you injured your poor neck catching a table :( :( :( Image - that is just terrible Image Image Image Image - I am sooooo sorry buddy XOXO - stupid table Image Image Image !!!!! I am happy that you got your app. - oh boy- it is so scary Image Image Image - but I am sure he will do a good job buddy - he really has a good record (KTW !!!!). We will all be praying for you here Image - and you remember how your LIS went well Image, recovery and all !!! You can do it buddy - after all you went through it will be a peace of cake for you Image Image Image - you will wake up and say - "Pffffffffft, WHAT surgery ??? Ah - THAT one, OK...now lets buy me some more Lush stuff and you boys better pull your act up since THE Val is baaaaackkk Image " !!!
Love you buddy - and thanks for asking :bathtub: Image

Thats horrible you've ended up with more fissures than you went into hospital with, just crazy!!
Have you tried any of the creams like diltiazem or nifedepine again? I use nitro all the time and it does make a big difference. Dont lose hope that you'll heal within 8 weeks - it IS possible. You healed before, you will heal again. Its so difficult to feel positive when pain takes over our senses!
Haha! I'd like to think i would wake from the surgery and say what surgery!! It looks such a gory operation though, and the recovery time is pretty slow, i think. It will be liquid food for a while, but thats good - it might get rid of some of the weight i've put on being stranded on my back!! LOL!
Hope you feel better soon XX Image

Oh my dearest buddy :truebud: - I know :( - it will take time to heal from such unbelievably complicated surgery - and scary one for that matter - I only think that you are such a strong and positive person, that for YOU it will be like that Image and nobody else ! You are like the Spartan warrior my friend :sprinkleheart: ! Actually, I don't know that even them had so many "wounds" to heal as you did so far - so you are a wonder -woman - I always said that and am standing strongly by my statement LOL !!!!!!
XOXOOOOOOOOO :sprinkleheart: Image :sprinkleheart:
PS: Yes, I use my Nitro since day 3 I think - he was not glad about that but said that I should use it if I feel better with it , that medicine as a science is one thing and a "person" another thing and not always book and a patient match. That everybody is different and even if it is just a placebo it can help healing . He is very broadminded and caring in many ways - so I am very confused of what to think about overall "package" . Since he has such understanding attitude, I am sure he did what he thought was the best and the best he could do - but was it the best for ME Image Image . Maybe the less would be more in my case (regarding cutting part) , but who could possibly know what would happen and that my reaction would be so strong and opposite of what he wanted to achieve. He wanted to fix it all once and for all but it caused such a spasm that my fissures just opened again :( . My biggest concern is that sphincter is not relaxed as it was after my first LIS (for the couple of months), but I just must be patient since nothing can be done until those 8-12 weeks pass. After that if pain is still there he can look with anoscope and do manometry to check the pressure  and than we will know for sure what is going on. Oh well... time flies - RIGHT LOL Image Image

It is frustrating to keep poop certain consistency and sometimes it is just impossible for whatever physiological process that happens in our guts Image . If it was that easy nobody would ever have a fissure for more than 8 weeks - period ! ............ but still - hard sh*t happens ( I copy-right this one for my bumper sticker lol )

What a funny life...searching for the perfect pooh Image
I see you recommend "All Bran"....yes I guess that would really send me to the Image as it isn't exactly gluten free Image
I asked about Movicol at the pharmacist Tabby, but I was told that it is something that the colon can get used to = it has to have it to work properly. When I heard that I put it back at once. I hate using medicines, and I don't dare use something that can cause more digestion problems as I have had my share of problems in that department for the last 20 years...
I will wait another week before I call my CRS because I want to se if it gets better, but also because I dread another Botox without local anaesthetic - it was so painful....
How are you Lecia? You should have your own thread... Image
What about you Val, how is your mood these days? It's so tough what you have to go through.... Image
Pinky & Tabby Image I will visit your threads....
Image Fissy, do you regret having so much done since the pain level is so high? I wish we all could heal!!!!

Image Fissy you are very funny !
Corsi …What a handsome wee chap !! Such beautiful blue eyesImage
Hope you are feeling a little better today Image
That’s a shame about the movicol , I was told from my GP , that moviocl/miralax is safe to use for the rest of my life if needs be and that is doesn’t cause dependency ...
If the lactulose is working for you then best to stick with !!

Yeah, I heard the same thing about Movicol. My GP who is a friend of mine had her 5 year old daughter on it for 4 years.

Had a serious setback last night as I had severe diarrhea....don't know why, it might have been the iron transfusion I got or maybe I've just got something else.
As we all know diarrhea + fissure = a match made in heaven
Fissure was so sore I had problems sleeping. It's like this Botox never gest the calm it needs to heal my fissure.
