Pinky -
I am glad you are feeling a little better. My incision took 3 weeks to close. Is the leaking your talking about getting any better? What does your CRS say?
Have you checked the baby isle for A&D cream? That is where it is in the US. I use it for my son's diaper rash.
I am still healing too - I am hopeing LIS will work for us! :D

Pinky, you could try bathing in savlon, it really does work well at clearing infection, and germolene with local anaesthetic is a good bet too! Good luck on tuesday!

Pinky -
My incision closed at 3 weeks, but it did reopen with a harder than normal BM after that along with my fissure :(
Is the leaking your talking about the infection or leaking stool. I thought you were talking about leaking stool due to the loose sphincter. My sphincter is regaining some strength and I am only 5 weeks post op.
I am not sure about the balenol cream. I actually never heard of it. I swear by the A&D cream. I will use it for the rest of my life. I even put it on my son's eczema (on his legs & arms).
Here is a link for A&D cream. You can buy it on Amazon.com in the future

Re: LIS

I had no leaking stool at all. Once a small amount came out with a fart, but I think that would have happened prior to LIS because I had bad diarrhea that day. What does your CRS say about the leakage? I actually wish I did have some - sometimes I feel like he did not cut enough with LIS.
When my fissure ripped open again I thought I was going to die. I was so depressed. I am trying to look at it this way, when it ripped at 3 weeks, that just had not been long enought for it to fully heal.
I do not yet feel healed. My fissure closes all the time - I have issues with re taring, so I will not know if LIS is a success until a few months. Chances are that the whole area will be compromised forever and I will have to be careful my whole life, but that will be tolerable as long as I have no pain.
Val - I am doing better & thanks for asking! How is your neck? Where are you on the waiting list for surgery? You are in my thoughts all the time!

I suppose for the CRSs theres a very fine line between cutting just enough, or cutting too much/too little. I didn't have any leakage either, but I have read loads of articles that it is normal and transient. I suppose we may all be compromised forever, butat least the spasms are gone!
Thanks Jen, I have my pre-op appt this friday and go into hospital on 23rd with surgery 24th october. I'm so scared, because i'm really blood phobic, i'm scared more of the blood and needles than of the op!
