Image I'm supposed to go in on the 23rd for the surgery on 24th october, but I shall ask tomorrow if I can go in on the day. I want my own bathroom the morning before it!!! The main reason though, or two main reasons are that its my grandaughter's birthday on the 23rd, and also I dont want to be away from my son an extra night!

I think its a bit like butt surgery - it can take up to a year or more to fully recover, especially when there's nerve damage, as the longer its been compressed the longer it takes to be better - if at all. The actual recovery time from the op itself is about 2 or 3 months I think! Apparently, everyone's voice goes down a few octaves and some never recover their voice Image
EEEEK! I'm gonna sound like a bloke Image Image

I feel better than before val.but i keep thinking something will go wrong, donno why.i went through the day without any painkillers as it was irritating my tummy.had mild pain but tolerable.i do bleed on n off.i think its ok to bleed as its a sign there's granulation tissue and healing.i have a lot of vaginal itching.there's no other sign of thrush.might as well take canesten if it doesnt improve.hope everything goes well for you.if your pre op goes well,i think you can request them to go on the same day if your surgery is in the afternoon.they usually want to admit the previous day so that all blood tests and notes will be ready.good luck.

Fiss, I cant sing before the op, so it would be a miracle if i could sing afterwards!! :D :D
Pinky, thats great that your pain wasnt too bad after not taking the painkillers, thats got to be an improvement on the last couple of weeks! Image the only way is up now, girly! Dont think bad thoughts about what could happen, just focus on whats happening now!!
Tabby, thanks, you're right, Christmas wouldn't be good the way things are now! I'm not so sure about a husky voice - i dont mind husky, I just dont wanna sound like a man! Image
Lecia, how was the accupuncture? Hope it was helpful?
The pre-op was a bit of a nightmare, and my husband is now having a nervous breakdown thanks to being with me during the blood tests!! The poor nurse tried one arm then the other, then the first and so on, then I nearly fainted when she'd taken one little bottlefull and they had to send me off to the blood clinic bit where I had hysterics again!! I think really, they should send people off to that bit first when they're phobic, after all they're experienced and get it over and done with quickly with no fuss, none of this "oh sorry, i cant find a vein, lets try the other arm!"

hi val,
i remember having a new phlebotomist who couldn't find a vein in either of my arms - and i am super ghost white and you can see my veins!!!! anyway, after trying three times, she said on her fourth try that if she couldn't find any, that she would have to look at my feet for veins!!!! Image Image
i was like either you find the vein now or i am coming back another day.
**
i wish you the best on your upcoming surgery.
the biggest of hugs,
:kim:

Awwwwwwwe Buddy :( - I know how frustrating it is . They can NEVER find my vein - before colonoscopy 3 nurses tried and I don't even remember any more how many bandages I had afterwards on my hands . I have no problems with needles at all, but was still frustrating and annoying - can only imagine how would it feel if I was scared of needles Image !!!! Yes, it is ridiculous that they did not send you to the experts immediately and they could give you some Valium or something - gosh :( !
Hope you are doing well now, sweet Val, and it is one less hurdle on your road to full recovery Image Image !!!! I was dreaming tonight of you having a surgery Image - I was in the room and was putting "special crystals" all around you for extra healing  - weird, I know , but just wanted to share, thought you might laugh LOL!!! The doctor was not "amused", but I was so determined that he just let me position them any way I wanted and soon you had all the beautiful crystals placed all around you, mostly amethyst and quartz
:D !
LU buddy - just hang in there - soon this nightmare will be over !!! I can't wait for that day !!!!!!! Image
