Corsi that sucks !! Image
I just wrote to you ref the vaseline inside -I use Vaseline before bms as a barrier, I apply it inside with an applicator, it helps with the burning and protects the skin !
Did you eat something that didnt agree ? maybe some hidden extra !
If you are a morning pooper which i think you are :) then yes take it before bedtime , dont worry if you dont see results for a couple of days , i believe it can take 24-72 hours to work !
Take care Corsi Image

Hi Corsi,
Image
I am sorry to read you had severe diahrea, that stinks! I had that also this past week but my butt seems to be almost recovered from it.
Hope you also recover quickly !
I take miralax almost daily, mostly in the morning with some coffee, but some times I spread it out and go for a nightly dose with some tea. It does take several days to work, and if it seems to working too well for you, just cut back a little on the dosage. It has worked wonders for me, I have taken it for more than 6 months now.
Take care Corsi dear,

I'm sorry, dearest, that you are having such a bad time of it! I think I would hold off on the miralax since you are having diarrhea. Do you take probiotics? Have you had an iron transfusion before? I know iron makes me constipated but I have only had it in oral form.
Do you feel sick like it is a virus or infection? I would definitely but some barrier cream before you go, wash off with water, air dry or use hair dryer and put some more cream on. I find aloe vera to be soothing and this cream we have here A&D ointment but vaseline will work just as well.
I know it is maddening to have this setback and not what you needed right now (or ever). Take something for the pain so you dont feel hopeless. I am sorry. Feel free to pm me if you want to talk or we can go to the chatboard sometime.

Lecia,
You are always so helpful.
Jo,
I shared with my minister friend about Jared--just his name. We will be praying for him! I think his main prob is Hep C--is that right? I can go back to your initial thread to read about it. Good luck at Mayos. Such a wonderful place.

Sweet Pinky, Tabby, Lecia, Jo & Val Free Smileys & Emoticons at Clipart of.com
I do think it must have been the iron transfusion I got that gave me the ugly diarrhea, because I didn't have much stomach pain. I will know for sure Tuesday when I get my next dose of iron. This is the first time I have had a transfusion, took tablets before fissure. I always shower after BMs and use a hairdryer. I don't think I've ever been as "clean" as these last months :)
I'll mail you Lecia when I have sent something your way....Image
Guess what I bought today Tabby? Vaseline!! Hope it helps!
Can I combine Miralax with Lactulose the first days?
Since I am a morning pooper (isn't that good to know for you???), shouldn't I take Miralax in the morning or during the day so that it is taken together with the food that will be "delivered" next morning? (Sorry to be graphic).
Pinky, this is my second Botox.

Hey Corsi,
I take Miralax in the morning. It takes awhile to kick in so I get it in with the first glass of water in the am. When do you take the lactulose?
The MOM works faster so I take that only at night right before I go to bed.
Is your diarrhea slowing down some? Be sure to let them know next week how you reacted. Does your mouth taste like metal?

I take lactulose with each meal, 5 or 10 ml.
My diarrhea is gone, I'm producing formed BM again, I don't think my butt wants to heal - it's a masochistic freak!
No metal taste, but they only gave me a small dose the first time. I got flu like symptoms. I will tell them about the diarrhea, but I really want this iron....need more energy.

Hi Corsi
Just going on my own experience with movicol - it worked the very next day i remember the relief, I must have a quick what do you call it ! Image
My routine is morning  if i took my movicol in the morning instead of bedtime i would be pooping by evening time...i would bet on it Image
I have always understood laxatives to be taken before bedtime for morning relief , as that is your routine I think it best to take before bedtime, it may take a couple of days so be patient!
I haven’t clue about the lactoulose and movicol , I am sure someone here can advise on that…
Get some Vaseline on your poor toosh it helped me when I got some nippy stinging
I hope you are feeling a little better today , be nice to yourself !
Here a big hug for you !

Corsi,
I'll second what Tabby said. When I took Movicol, it worked the very next day for me. My GI doc told me to take it in the morning, but I think worked up to twice a day.
